Corde was Padme's decoy, who killed at the beginning of Attack of the Clones, in an attack that was actually meant to kill Padme. I called this the "Bait and switch death," because when you see the movie, you honestly think Padme is the one who's been killed, until the real Padme, disguised as a pilot, takes off her helmet, and rushes to Corde's side to be with her decoy as she dies.
