Can a Lost Soul Return?

We were close enough to start a war,

And start a war we did.

I’ve been stranded for so long,

Not strong, wondering what went wrong.

She’s been holding me hostage,

But that’s making me wonder;

Could you have stayed faithful to me for far so long?

I cried, but I won’t let go.

For 20 years I have not seen her;

The love of my life, my son.

I’d give this all up to be with them once again.

But do you think you could find it?

Does she know where her heart is?

Or did she give it up when, I never, walked through those doors?

Is the life she’s having better than what she had.

All I need is her; to hear her heart beat,

The warm voice in my ear.

Not the thundering sounds of the ocean.

But, baby do you know where the end is?

I really need you,

I can’t take any longer without you.

All I need is to come home;

With you and my son by my side.

I am constantly wondering:

Can a lost soul return?

Did I think I could find it?

I’m stranded on this island, I want to be free.

I want to go home.

Then I get a chance to come home,

Only to be assaulted with those thunderous clouds,

And the sharp knife like, slate colored water delved into my flesh.

I found my savior though.

This time after my tale has been told I am coming home.

The tears I have shed will wash away.

The tears I will shed will be ones of happiness, for I am finally home.

I have been through and overcome much perils.

Do you know where the end is?
