Abbey's pov
Vandaag gaan Collin, Josh, Tess en ik naar een festival. We zijn ontdekt op YouTube en zijn toen gevraagd. Veel bekende producers en platenlabels kijken daar, dus het is DE kans.

Luke's pov
Ik, Michael, Calum en Ashton gaan vandaag naar een festival om nieuw talent te ontdekken. Hopelijk zit er iets tussen dat we zoeken. We komen daar aan en wachten op een goede band. Sommigen zijn niet wat we zoeken, sommigen hebben poduimvrees en de anderen zingen vals.

Na een tijdje komt er 1 waarvan de naam me alleen al aanspreekt: Against the Current. Ik kijk wie er op het podium lopen, ik schrik. Dat is mijn dochter. Nu maar hopen dat ze goed zijn. Maar ik heb haar nog nooit horen zingen. Als ze wel gaat zingen... Ja ze gaat zingen, ze staat namelijk achter de microfoon. Tess, Calum's dochter zit achter de elektrische gitaar, Josh, het zoontje van Louis en Harry zit achter de drum en Collin zit achter de bas. Tess gaat blijkbaar ook zingen, want bij haar staat ook een microfoon.

"Hallo iedereen!" zegt Abbey. Heel veel mensen juichen. Zouden ze al bekend zijn?

"Welk lied willen jullie horen?" vraagt ze. Iedereen gilt door elkaar heen. Allemaal liedjes die ik niet ken. Ik ga snel naar youtube en zoek Against the Current op. Ze hebben echt al heel veel abbonees.

"Paralyzed?" vraagt ze. Iedereen juicht. Ze glimlacht en begint te zingen.

"Have you had a million reasons why you wish you's never seen the truth? Have you looked into the mirror and the problem's staring back at you." zingt Abbey. Wauw, wat een stem.

"I can't control myself, don't know who I've been. And who is this monster wearing my skin? A movie in black and white. When will it end? Cause every time I scream no one hears me." zingt Tess.

"Wow Calum ze is echt goed." zeg ik.

"Abbey is ook geweldig." zegt hij. Ik glimlach trots.

"It feels like I'm paralyzed, and I can't escape from the prison I'm living in. I'm naming the voices in my head. They keep on telling me to give in. But it's making me stronger. Fight a little longer. I'm gonna bring me back to life. And I won't be paralyzed." zingt Abbey.

"Have you searched for something deeper out of fear that life's a lonely road? Have you roamed the darkest corners of the earth until you're just a ghost?" zingt Abbey.

I'm not afraid, I can face my demons. Even if they tear me down. If I fall, let me fall, it might take time. But I'll find my own way out." zingt Abbey. Wow, dat is hoog.

Iedereen juicht. Ik kan het niet laten om niet mee te juichen. Abbey merkt mij op en schrikt.

Abbey's pov
Ik zie daar mijn vader staan. Wat doet hij hier? Gewoon doorgaan Abbey.

"Okey, hier komt Gravity!" roept Tess. Veel mensen juichen. Het geeft zo'n grote kik om hier te staan.

"You left me out there with no one but myself. In an open field for the lightning to strike me down. I was the moon, you were the sun. I can't seem to shine now that you're gone. Now I'm out of orbit cause you left without warning. Are you somewhere better now?" zing ik.

"And now I'm shattering." zing ik. Ik kijk even naar mijn vader. Hij straalt helemaal.

"Ooooh, you were my gravity." zing ik. Iedereen juicht. Ik word hier zo blij van.

Na het optreden komen mijn vader, Calum, Michael en Ashton naar ons toe.

"Pap." zeg ik zacht en onzeker.

"Abbey, jullie waren geweldig!" roept mijn vader. Ik bloos.

"Dankje." zeg ik. Luke kijkt de anderen aan. Ze knikken.

"We willen jullie een contract bij hi or hey records aanbieden. Niet omdat je mijn dochter bent, maar omdat jullie geweldig zijn en precies zijn wat we zoeken." zegt mijn vader.

"Omg dankje pap!" roep ik en knuffel hem.

"Is al goed." zegt hij. Iedereen bedankt de jongens. Ik heb er nu al zin in.
