All my life through my eyes all I could see was black and white. Until one summer when a strange boy with a dark aura came to the orphanage in which I stayed in.........

Five years earlier

"everyone I'd like you to meet our newest member to the family!" We had all been gathered in the living room to meet the latest edition "what's his name?" One of the kids asked, Masano the lady who ran this dump shifted awkwardly "well he doesn't have a name yet but I'm sure he'll think of one he likes soon" the other kids began muttering to themselves "what a weird kid", "I know right? I wonder what his parents were like", "who doesn't know or have a name?" Looks like he's going to be an outcast in this place, yes even in an orphanage there's always a few outcasts when really we all have something in common- we're unwanted but no this still doesn't stop kids getting pushed away. Everyone began to file out, beginning to do their own thing completely ignoring the new guy who rolled his eyes and headed outside and leaned against the dying cherry blossom tree and closed his eyes. I wandered over and squatted to be eye level with him "hey I'm Yuna! Wanna be friends?" He opened his eyes and stared at me "no" I frowned "come on, please?" I held out my hand, he looked at it confused "your suppose to shake hands like this" I grabbed his right hand and put it in mine then shaked them making him stiffen slightly "see? Not so hard, it's what people do when they first meet" he closed his eyes again and sighed loudly "I don't care, go away" I pouted "come on no need to be grumpy" he sat up frowning "I'm not grumpy, leave me alone" just as I was about to speak a sharp voice cut through the air "Yuna! Leave the poor boy alone! He doesn't need you harassing him 24/7!" I stood up "yes Masano" I glanced at the new kid "well you know who I am don't be afraid to talk to me" I never found out if he heard me or not. I was pulled from my thoughts when I began to fall backwards from bumping into something, I looked up to see three of the older kids standing in front of me "tsk tsk freak you really gotta look where your going" I began to shuffle back until I bumped into a wall "where are you going freak? Why don't you try predict our deaths again huh?" They all laughed "leave me alone" I whispered barely audible against their cruel laughs "come on freak how are we going to die huh? Or maybe we should just kill you now?" I clenched my fists "get out my way" I said through gritted teeth "or what freak? You gonna scare us?" I charged forward and tried to push through the three boys but failed in doing so "you think you can just push past? Haven't you heard of excuse me?" I got up from the ground and glared at them "ohh I think we made her mad boys" they all laughed, I tried getting past again but they stopped me "excuse me" they looked at each other then back at me "I think someone needs a lesson in manners boys" they snickered at each other as they formed a triangle around me "I think sharing is caring so lets take it in turns with our little punch bag" an immense pain shot through me as their fist collided into my stomach, I doubled over with the pain "please stop" I wheezed as yet another fist collided with the side of my head sending my brain spinning, black dots began to fill the sides of my vision as they began to kick my sides I curled up in a tight ball in hope that they would give up a few seconds later something splashed onto the floor and splattered onto me, pained cries began to ring from the three boys then a thud, I looked up to see the new kid punching one of the boys, one was on the ground blood pouring from his nose and the other was nowhere to be seen. He stopped Long enough for the boy to help his friend then they ran while he stood there with bruised knuckles and a burst lip "thanks" I mumbled and stood up he nodded in acknowledgment "come on let's clean your face up" he touched his lip and winced then looked at me and pointed "face not so good either" I could feel a bruise forming to the side of my eye but I refused to show I was in pain "I'm fine honestly" he sighed but let me drag him to the washroom to try clean his face and hands up. "you sure gave em a beating huh? Where'd you learn to hit life that?" He didn't speak and only made a noise when I dabbed the cuts on his cheek and lip "there that's better now lets see your knuckles" he held his hands out and let me dab away the now dried blood and wrap them in bandages. The light from the sun shone through the cracked window and lit up his face in the light "so how old are you?" He shrugged "have you lived on the streets your whole life?" He nodded "but someone must have taught you how to survive! And raise you!" He shrugged again "English.. Not good... Brought here" I smiled "I can teach you better English though" he didn't respond "your very pitifully weak" I flicked his arm "hey! It's not my fault!" He smirked "get better then" I looked down "it's fine... Those boys only have less than a year left until they die" he looked up "how would you know?" I turned away "whenever I hold someone's wrist I see how they die in my head and how long they have left, I don't know why or how it just happens" he smiled which seemed to switch on the light in my world "that's cool, shouldn't be ashamed" his kind words brought colours to my vision and brightened my colourless world with only a few simple words that weren't rejection. "so can we be friends now?" He looked me in the eye "sure why not, could you... Could you see when I am meant to die?" I paused then shakily extended my hand towards him "are you sure" he nodded without hesitation I grabbed his wrist and held it tightly while the vision came into my mind:

It's raining, he's older now and has a few other people with him another guy and two girls. One of them is definitely me but the other two I have no clue who they are. Tension is high in the air. Another person a boy with great power is in our path. He's angry and full of hate towards us. He is dangerous, very dangerous. He uses chains to try and kill us. As he extends it towards me he hesitates as the chain is millimetres from my heart, I can feel it thudding heavily for the first time in my life feeling fear run through me, the boy who's wrist I'm holding at the moment pulls me away from the chain getting caught in it, the chains tighten before he is ripped into pieces and left on the ground this will happen in six years but the course may be altered in that time.

I blinked as I looked at him "you have six years left. But it can be changed, so your safe for now" he nodded "I think you should call yourself feitan" he paused as he began to stand up "feitan?" I nodded eagerly "like the Greek god" he still looked confused "it means the shining, just now you brightened my world by merely acknowledging me and not reject me just because I'm different and for that I thank you deeply" he closed his eyes for a moment then stretched "feitan? I like it" my eyes lit up "really?" He nodded "awesome! So your now feitan now you have a name!" He nodded "you now see the world in colour, so you don't have inner sadness anymore" how could he sense that? I let it go for that moment and let the rest of the time go by without a single moment of doubt for him. After all he created a colorful place for me to live in.
