Chapter 4 : Explinations

Mia's POV
July 14 1973

Later in the day (more like 12:03am) I decided to call Mike up on his room line, just to talk and maybe question about the interview maybe not. As I picked up my orange telephone to dial I got that funny feeling in my stomach again , I really need to figure that out. I knew Mike was gonna be awake due to him just being a natural night person , there were two rings before he picked up.

"Hello ?" He asked in a croaky voice as if he had been crying

"Hey mike its Mia, what's wrong"

"Oh nothing I just..uh watched a movie" he said stuttering his words I knew he was lying

"Oh yeah ? What movie" seeing if he would lie again

"Umm a old one" he said as if he just got the idea now I knew he really was lying, he was a terrible lier

"Come on Mike you did not just watch a movie, tell me please what's wrong with you" I was growing more concerned Mike was never this reluctant to tell me something.

"What wrong" he said repeating my words "well the thing wrong is how you are with Marlon, and never told me, how you kissed him, how you-you" then I heard him put his hand over the phone

All of his words were running through my head my stomach that used to have butterflies turned to heavy knots in seconds, All those things weren't true none of it was I was completely stunned ! " Mike those are all lies each and every one of them! Marlon and I aren't dating I've never kissed Marlon he's just a friend like-like you." I wish I could take my words back because I truly wanted Mike and I to be more than just good friends I heard his hand come off the phone.

" Really? Because Marlon told me a different story he told me everything, why would you keep something like that from me I thought we were more that just good friends" he said his voice dipping into sadness

"Mike I didn't mean it-"

"I have to go Mia"

And he hung the phone up no goodnight, no I'll believe you, no I'll let you explain nothing. He was truly stubborn at times but I understand. Next time I see Marlon where going to have a little chat.

Michael's POV

I couldn't take talking to her, I love Mia very much but I couldn't stand her lying to me acting as if nothing happened trying to play clueless it just made my temperature rise ! But then a soft spot came into me and I thought about my strong feelings for her and the anger towards her then turned to Marlon for coming on to her but then the anger for both of them turned to sadness and disappointment. All the emotions I felt in the passed hour exhausted me I fell asleep with my thoughts running faster than ever.

I woke up the next morning with a mild headache from all my emotions from the other night I went towards my window ledge that sat the cage of my pet rat, I took him out and started to play with him , as I looked out the window towards the yard I saw a sight I wish I never saw Marlon and Mia walking together the sight of them confirmed what I believed not to be true they were together, I turned away from the window marched down the steps and out the door to where they were.

"Not together huh ! This surly looks like somthing a couple would do" I said with anger obviously my tone

"You cracked the code Mike" Marlon said smirking putting his arm around Mia

"Get off Marlon" she said getting loose of his grip "Mike I came to talk to Marlon about what you said" her hand reaching towards me I stepped back so she couldn't touch me

"Mia I don't know who to trust" I said looking down towards the ground playing with the dirt with my shoes.

"Come on Mike when have I ever lied to you, I always tell you the truth no matter what and I have never done anything to get your trust taken away from me. Marlon and I are just friends nothing more than that, if anything we don't even really have a good amity due to what he has done between us, what I'm trying to say is mike forgive me" she said

While she said this Marlon winced at every word as if her words about them being just friends stabbed at him like a Jagger, it was in a way wonderful to watch knowing that he felt what I felt. I personally knew now Mia meant every word she said I was more convinced now that Marlon was the one lying which built my anger towards him to Ben more. I looked up at her she was waiting for my answer the anticipation in her eyes then my trance broke to Marlon's words being said

"Come on Mia you want big noes over here with no muscle or a lean handsome young thang like me" he said gesturing towards himself

Mia raised a eyebrow "your starting  to have more ego than a Osmond"

I laughed at her quick remark I saw her eyes shoot to me in shock at my laugh I gave her a reassuring smile that everything was okay now

"Hey Mike your coming with me" she said giggling pulling my sleeve with her I turned and saw Marlon kick the dirt and stuff his hands in his pocket looking more defeated than ever that brought a smile to my face.

Mia's POV

Knowing that everything was alright between me and Michael again was wonderful it brightened my whole mood, me and Marlon may not be on good terms but I could honestly care less, I pulled Mike by the sleeve all the way to my house drawing a few heads while walking by a few shouts from fans and one camera shot nothing that we haven't handled before. When Mike and I got to my house I took him to my room let go of. His sleeve while he sat on my bed and I paced the room back and fourth

"What are you doing" he said smoothing out his sleeve

"Thinking that's what I'm doing"

"That dangerous" he said with a smirk

I playfully pushed him back "I know !" I said the idea hit me like the bright of day, the idea was my father knew the maher of a park I was gonna ask him if he could shut the park down for a couple hours so we could walk among it i had a tiny little spot there myself that was kind of isolated , that had the perfect view of LA.I jumped towards my orange land line dialed the number, planed everything in code so Mike wouldn't have a clue it was going to be a Im sorry present in a way.

"Come on Mia tell me where we are going, you know how the public gets" he said rubbing his arm nervously climbing into my family's drivers car

"Don't worry Mike would I ever lie to you" I remarked with a grin knowing I was gesturing towards our past situation

"Oh goodness Mia what am I going to do with you" he said playfully rolling his eyes

"I don't know, love me maybe ?" I said chuckling

I saw Mike turn a shade of pink/reddish on his cheeks, he looked down too. Mike got blushy with me! He must like me right ? I thought to myself just then our car stopped and we were at the park it was now noon I couldn't wait to show Mike his surprise
