"So good bye Yellow Brick Road,
where the dogs of society howl."

She was going to die. After all the hard work I had done just to get her ass safe, and she was going to kill herself.
Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.
I even put up with that British alien bastard for her, and THIS is how she repays me? I thought to myself as my heart stopped beating in my chest. I watched as she ran into the saws, nothing more than a blur to normal eyes. Someone shouted something after her, but my ears didn't register it. I was too focused on her.
"WOLFE!" I heard myself roar, the noise escaping my throat without consent.
She reached the other side, but barely looked back. What was wrong with her? Was she--
Oh shit. She was.
"Get your ass back--" I began. but was cut off by the noise of the next hall way. The targets were swinging wildly, way faster than they should have been. Stella's head followed the movement of the malfunctioning obstacle course as she took two steps forward.
I signaled the Crews to follow her, and one by one they all ducked under the saw blades with mechanical precision and grace. Captain Daisy was barely five feet away from me as we ducked under the saws together. Her eyes were blazing with anger, focused entirely on Stella as she pushed her way through the crowd.
This was not good. Not good at all.
As much as I couldn't stand Daisy, she would have no chance against Stella. And from the looks of the confrontation, Stella was completely ready to snap Daisy's neck.
Daisy backed down, and lucky for her, called for my assistance.
I stepped forward and grabbed Stella roughly by the shoulders. She didn't resist me or fight back, which was odd. Maybe this wasn't what I thought it was. Maybe she was just...
"What's wrong with her?" I asked over my shoulder, but didn't break eye contact with Stella or let go of her.
"She just went...crazy." Daisy stammered.
Stella snapped something back, but I cut her off. "Stand down, Wolfe."
I squinted in the dim light, and sure enough, Stella's pupils were cat slits and were surrounded by a sea of eerie sapphire blue. I spun her around and shoved her away from the crowd.
"Keep your head down." I ordered.
And she obeyed.
That's I knew something was very wrong, even if she was losing control like I thought she was.
I turned back to the troops, giving out orders, but the second I turned my back on her, I smelled the blood. It froze me in my tracks.
Like a hungry shark, I heard her footsteps flock to the bleeding. It was nothing but a paper cut, but she had little to no control, she could--
The footsteps stopped. She was fighting back.
I knew what she was going to do before her shout even reached my ears. I knew it because was the exact same thing I would do if I were her. But stupid. SO stupid.
I spun around and shouted after her, but she was already in the target course, shooting targets left and right. She moved forward with the grace of a lithe hunting cat, transitioning effortlessly into a light jog while tearing apart more targets with her gun.
