as requested by Angelene (Gel, you didn't tell me your wattpad account. I can't tag you. Lol)

So. This is basically about how I make my covers.

So, let's start with the software.

The ones I've used before and probably still using are

1. Power Point! (YAS. I MADE MY IDOL ON HERE AND I STILL LOVE IT SO MUCH)

2. Photoshop

3. Pixlr

4. Pixlr express

5. PicsArt

6. Phonto

7. PicMonkey? (I'm not sure. I haven't used it in forever)

So yeah. I've used a lot.

1. Photoshop

For Photoshop, for me it's nice to use that software if you wanna blend your covers. Idk I just really like the brushes they have there and if you want that outline/glow/shadow in your cover to be more visible, it's awesome. Though it's kinda complicated, it's still awesome. The PSD's are <3 but I don't use PSD colorings tho. It's not my thing.

Next is

2. Pixlr

Pixlr is just similar to Photoshop it's like photoshop's little bro/sis. Tho pixlr doesn't have PSD's it has PXD's which again, I don't really use.

3. Pixlr Express

What I like with this is that it has overlays and stickers and borders and fonts!! I really suggest this when you're just starting to edit stuff. I think this is best for minimalist and tumblr-ish book covers.

4. PicsArt

When I'm too lazy to use the PC I'm gonna use PicsArt to edit. There are lots of PicsArt tutorials out there but when I started using PicsArt I didn't have any tutorials xD it was fun learning by mah self tho xD. PicsArt is kinda like an alternative if you don't wanna use Photoshop and it's easier to use. For fonts, you should go and download an unrar app at the app store. It's pretty useful

5. Phonto

A good place to add fonts

7. PicMonkey

You should go and check this out. I don't think it has an app yet so you need to use it on line. There are tons of stickers and overlays/textures here and also fonts!! I used to love it so much haha

There are also other softwares like photoscape and etc. But it's really up to you.

Things I need when I edit.

1. Insfires

>Being insfires is really important. If you aren't insfires then just hope that the finished product won't look like crap.

2. Creative Juice
>You gotta be creative! Cuz if you aren't then the cover may turn out plain and boring.

3. The story info.
>The story info is important. Because if you don't know the story info then you might just go and make a humor themed book cover when the genre of the book was actually Horror.

4. Stocks
>Stocks are really important. How are you gonna staxD
editing without these?

5. Wifi
>incase you're low on stocks

6. Food
>it's hard to edit with an empty stomach

7. Music
>for insfires

8. Time
>beauty can't be rushed. (Lol) but seriously though. Don't rush yourself when editing xD

Additional Softwares

Eraser ☜

You know how sometimes there are just no renders to fit the story of the book. Then you better go look for HD pics. Then you render them yourself. Eraser makes it easy to render 👌

Super Impose ☜

Probably Eraser's bro/sis. Here you can add layers, shadows etc. It's easy to use too.

VSCO ☜

For filters. You know how sometimes the cover just looks to bright/too dull and the filters at PicsArt and Pixlr are doing you no good? VSCO is awesome for filters.

The reasons why I don't wanna open a book cover shop.

One, I don't wanna

Two, because the cover might be requested at a time when I'm too lazy and/or low on creative juice, and

Three, I don't wanna

I hope that answered most of your questions.

I'm bad at giving tips so idk. Hahaha
