Chapter Twenty-One

It was very early in the morning when Harry woke up.

I was curled snugly into his side with his arm lazily draped around my waist, his legs tangled with mine and our bodies wrapped fully underneath the warm blankets. It was a quiet and serene night-not a noise was through the house, and I found myself sleeping like a baby with Harry holding me like this.

I was never going to get used to it.

However, I woke up when I felt him shift under me and start to get up. My arms instinctively tightened firmly around his waist, my head leaning more towards his chest, aiming to bury myself in his scent.

"Claire," Harry whispered, husky from just waking up, "let go of me."

"No." I grumbled, locking my fingers and disregarding his words.

"I'll be right back," Harry insisted quietly, sounding reluctant to get out of bed as well. "Believe me, I don't want to go either." His arms encased around me to hold me for a few moments again him, and I heard him shift again to kiss me on the top of my head.

"Then don't go." I grumbled tiredly.

He sighed, "I have to."

"Why?" My voice came out as a small whine, and I moved even closer towards him, crawling in front of him. His long, lankly legs were under me as I leaned dazedly into him, tucking my head into the crook of his neck. He smelled masculine and...well, he smelled like Harry. It was a musky scent-I've never smelled anything like it before, but it seemed to match him perfectly.

All I wanted to do was stay in this safe, quiet world, with just me and Harry.

"I want you to stay in bed until I get back." Harry said, the huskiness in his voice softening as he gradually began to fully wake up. "If you need to use the restroom, get Louis to help you." I felt his arms begin to loosen around me, the sign of him finally getting up, and I stubbornly moved even closer, fighting off his tug.

"Stay with me," I grumbled mulishly.

"You know I would," Harry replied, a bit louder. "But I can't. So get off me, Claire."

Harry wasn't exactly a happy guy in the morning, I knew that.

"Make me." I retorted, and before I knew it, I was lying on my back and Harry's emerald eyes peering down at me. He had that cocky smirk at seeing my wide, surprised eyes, letting out a breathless, triumphant chuckle.

"You should know by now that you shouldn't test me," He said, his hands easily propping mine above my head.

"Stay in bed with me," I coaxed again, wriggling under his enveloping body. I purposely wriggled up against his hips, my cheeks flushing from my uncharacteristically forward move, and I let myself smile shyly when I saw a surprised look flash in Harry's eyes from my bold move. The surprised look was quickly replaced with one of intrigue, and his face shifted to a solemn one.

He leaned down, a curl brushing into my cheek, and whispered, "Don't tempt me, Claire."

"What if I want to tempt you?" I replied quietly, raising a leg and curling it around his waist. I could hear Harry's sharp intake of breath, his head leaning back to stare incredulously down at me.

"Hm," He murmured thoughtfully, "I guess we could have a quickie."

I let out a chuckle at his casual wording, my cheeks flushing even more when I knew what he was talking about. I could feel my body instantly waking up from the dark, safe world of sleep, awakening to this world where my insides were completely warm and my heart was accelerating at a rapid pace.
