A Poem From His Perspective

I whispered it

to make sure it was right

Then I said the joke aloud

Everyone laughed.

Except you.

You did not

You sat in the back

of the room

and didn't look up

You knew something was about

in the shift

of the mood

Of your eyes

it was seen

I did see it

Shifty eyes

figuring out who said it

what they were laughing about

But you do not

hear the jokes

or know why they laugh

you with happy that they laughed

and it wasn't at you

or with you

Everyone was laughing

Except you.
