"Lydia? Armen? Are you guys there?" Drake sounded panicked as me and Armen opened the front door. I had gone to the library and happened to run into him on his way home.
"Drake!" Armen called out in a slightly happy voice.
"Oh, thank god you're back," he sighed in relief as he looked down from where he stood on the second floor. 'Why is he so nervous and relieved?' I think to myself and make a mental note to ask him later.
"I got a book from the library! Its about the night hauntings," I inform as I climb the stairs and open the door. I hear the release of an arrown and look to my side to see an arrow lodged in the door where my head had been a second before. Jumping, I backed up. Armen looked at me skeptically and I pointed at the arrow, "Can skeletons shoot that acuratly?"
"No....Maybe you should tell us about the book now," Armen states nervously. I noded and opened the book, scanning it.
"It says that the person, or thing, that's been coming every night is a man named Herobrine. He is described as looking normal except for two pale white eyes. It says that he used to be a boy named Collin."
Well, the book didn't say much. I was about to finish when I felt sudden pain in my temples. I dropped the book and fell to my knees, holding my head.
~Flashback~
"No!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face as I reached out for my father's hand. He tried to grab my hand but the sword came down like lightning, cutting cleanly through his neck. I looked away, my vision blurry, at my mothers body. Her eyes were blank and starring into space. Blood poured from her stomach where the sword had stabbed her.
I sobbed as I shakely stood up, looking at the man holding the glimmering sword. My eyes met the pale eyes of death and I glared through my tears, "I'm not afraid of you."
He glared and raised his sword, about to stab me through the heart, but I raised my head willingly. Blinding light surrounded us and when it faded, he was gone. only his sword laid on the bloody grass where he had stood moments before.
~End of Flashback~
I opened my eyes to Armen shaking me by my shoulders frantically. I was still on my knees but tears were rolling down my face. He calmed down when I opened my eyes and it was then that I noticed Drake had been yelling my name. Armen helped me up and I relaxed against the wall.
"What just happened, Lydia?" Armen still sounded panicked.
"I'm okay. I...Guys I just had a flashback, or a memory, or whatever you want to call it," I met Armen's, and then Drake's eyes.
"Wha-" I cut Armen off before he could continue.
"I don't know what happened. I saw my mother...She was dead. I saw my father...I saw Herobrine kill him. And then everything went white, and when the light faded, Herobrine was gone," I told the story.
"Well, maybe he'll leave us alone now," I shook my head at Drakes comment.
"The book says he chooses his victims and then plays with them until he kills them. We're not getting out of this one."
"Well then, maybe we can get him to change," I nodded to Armen as he gave the suggestion. Looking outside, I saw the moon had come up and sighed.
"Come one, guys," I lead them down stairs.
"Collin, we know you're out there. Come out!" Armen called as we reached the main floor. That's when I saw the tnt fall from the hole in the roof across from the stair case. I walked over to it and picked it up, looking up through the hole just in time to see Herobrine fly away from view. I sighed and walked back over to the boys.
"He just left the tnt and flew out of sight," I explained. Then I heard the sound of a crash and looked in the direction of the sound; the basement. "Great. Come one, boys. Let's go check out the scary noises coming from the scary basement."
They nodded and followed me as I opened the door and walked downstairs. I saw a skeleton and immediatly drew my sword, stabbing it and entering the room. I looked around the room and then, once I reached the corner, I saw a boarded up hole.
"What's this? Didn't the repair man fix this? Did he ever get his pay?" I asked no one in particular.
"Yeah, he fixed it. But he never came up to get his money, no," Armen answered.
"We gotta open this up! What if he is trapped down there!" Drake stressed and Armen ran upstairs to get his axe. "If anyone is down there, we are going to get you out. Just hang on."
Armen ran back down and cut the wood. I noticed the cobweb was glowing beside him but didn't comment, knowing there were weirder things in this world. Armen finished cutting and we followed him down into a room. He opened the door on the other side of the small room and we followed him through.
"Wait, what? There are stairs here, leading down," Armen said in confusion.
"Man made stairs under our house? That is just creepy," I was honestly creeped out.
"Let's go," Armen continued to lead us, down. Eventually, I smelled smoke and turned to see fire.
"And now, we are moving faster. Move it. Fire is behind us. Go faster please,"I ordered fron the back of the line.
"Yes, ma'am," Armen called and we walked faster down steeper stairs. When we reached the bottom he lead us into a stone room with a square hole in the center and more room on the other side. I looked into the hole and saw that is was a hole into abyss blackness. I backed up in fear.
I suddenly felt extreme pain in my temples again and collapsed against the wall.
~Flashback~
"You're okay. You're going to be okay," I was trying to reassure my brother, who I was holding to my chest. He was 7. I sobbed, hugging him tightly where we sat on the grass. His blood was soaking my shirt and pants, coming from the stab wound in his side, but I didn't care.
"Lydia...Lyd, I- I'm tired..." I watched as his eyes glazed over and his last breath escaped his mouth. I wish I could have grabbed it and given it back to him so I could have another second with him. He was gone... He was all I had left and now he was gone...
I sobbed into his lifeless chest until no more tears came. I let him down. I let the man with white eyes win. I was all alone.
~End of Flashback~
The second my eyes opened, they rolled back and I blacked out.
