Today had been a month that Don came back from his trip. His parents, Dorothy and Adolph decided to visit him. By the time, he was showing some of his sculptures at the Sperone Westwater Fischer. It was a good excuse to see it. They wanted to make him a little surprise. They didn't tell him about their coming.

Adolph, recognized the building. The neighborhood didn't feel quite welcoming. It was quite scary.

Dorothy knocked on the door. No one responded. She knocked a second time a little harder and still no one. Both shouted. Still nothing.

Madison, Don's same level neighbor heard them.

"-Hi ! I'm sorry but do you need help ?" she began.

"-Hi ! Yes, sure. Thank you. We're Don's parents and we wanted to visit him ?" replicated Adolph.

"-Don ? Oh yeah ! Just wait a sec, I'm gonna get their key." After few second, she came back and open the door. "Here !"

"-Thank you very much. You're a good girl." thanked Dorothy.

They enter the house. Don wasn't alone. There was heels and girl coats. Was he dating someone ? She looked at her husband with a killer look. "Did he ever told you something ?" she asked. "No." he respond quite sadly. Truth is, Don was very close to his father, since forever. Don is the second of six children. So, as one of the oldest, Adolph put all his trust in his son and a very strong relationship got established. The Gummer were living in Indianapolis and Don in New York, so the separation was hard but it was better for the artist's work. Both talked almost everyday by phone. They talked about everything. He was the first to learn about his separation with Sigourney, the first to know about his trip, the one who encouraged him about his exhibitions... His dad was his life. Adolph felt offended about the fact that Don didn't tell him about his new girlfriend even if he told him about a "pretty girl" he met. The son/mother relationship was completely different. She was much closer to the youngest. She loved all her kids for sure, but the youngest need more attention. Maybe. She adored Sigourney and she was mad at Don. How could he left her ? To her, she was the most perfect woman for her son. And she became really close to her, like a mother/daughter relationship. When she saw the girl stuffs in his flat, she immediately though about her. Maybe, during his trip, he couldn't think about anything else but Sigourney and when he came back, he called her back...

Dorothy was heading to her son's room when the bathroom opened. It was Meryl getting out of the shower. There she was, standing in front of her future parents-in-law in a bathrobe. She was stunning in it by the way. We could guess her slim figure and her nice hips. Gosh ! She was so sexy.

No, it wasn't the right girl. She wasn't Sigourney. Dorothy was extremely mad against that young lady. She didn't know who she was but she didn't like her.

"-Oh my god ! What are you doing here ? Who are you ? How did you get in ?" She asked such in a hurry. Her scream woke up Don.

"-Who are we ? Seriously ? No ! Who are you ?" asked the older woman coldly. Meryl froze.

"-Honey, are you okay ?" asked Don at the same time. He looked around and recognized his parents. " Mom ! Dad ! What are you doing here?"

"-Visiting !" she said swiftly.

"-Right... Mom, dad, let me introduce you Meryl my fiancée !". Dorothy had to sat down for a quick second. Her son ? Engaged ? To tell the truth, she wasn't happy at all. How was she ? On the otherside, Adolph was very happy for his son. He could see in his eyes he was happy with that young lady.

"-Congratulations ! I'm deeply thrilled you found each other" congratulated the patriarch. Meryl began to blush. At least they had the encouragement from him. When she noticed her soon-to-be mother-in-law, it seems to her the sky fell over her head. Why wasn't she happy about that engagement ?
