*Warning, may be sad...*

Will and Mabel returned to the hospital many times after that, each time they went, Dipper tried to be strong but looked as if he was losing an internal war with his own body.
Mabel wrapped an arm around Will's shoulder, trying her damned hardest not to burst out crying in the hospital's corridor, Will's eyes had lingering tears as he held a Dictaphone close to him, the sun set over the horizon.

Mabel creaked open the door, seeing Dipper look out of his window, bored. He turned to see the duo come into his room.
"Brother dearest, Will has something to ask you" Mabel said, barely audible.
"Oh? what is it, Blueberry?" Dipper asked, gazing at Will with a warm smile, trying not to bend the tube in his arm.
Will gulped.
"I.....we....were wondering if w-we could record you singing something" Will explained.
Dipper raised an eyebrow.
"I-it's for a show" he hastily added, trying to hide the guilt because of the lie.
Dipper looked at Will and Mabel.
"I know it's not for a show, but I'll do my best" Dipper replied.
"There is one that I used to hear when Mabel and I were little, you may recognise this, Will* he gave Mabel a nod to signify he was ready.
Mabel took out her phone, finding a soft piano instrumental, playing it as Will hit the record button on the Dictaphone.
Dipper took a deep breath before singing softly.
(Play the song now)

little child, be not afraid
though rain pounds harshly against the glass
like an unwanted stranger, there is no danger
I am here tonight

Mabel and Will sighed softly, listening to Dipper in awe.

little child, be not afraid
though thunder explodes and lightning flash
i
lluminates your tear-stained face
I am here tonight

and someday you'll know
that nature is so
the same rain that draws you near me
falls on rivers and land
on forests and sand
makes the beautiful world that you'll see
in the morning

Will was silently crying at this point. Mabel sat still, silent like a statue.

Little child, be not afraid
though storm clouds mask your beloved moon
and its candlelight beams, still keep pleasant dreams
I am here tonight

little child, be not afraid
though wind makes creatures of our trees
and their branches to hands, they're not real, understand
and I am here tonight

for you know, once even I was a

little child, and I was afraid
but a gentle someone always came
to dry all my tears, trade sweet sleep for fears
and to give a kiss goodnight

well now I am grown
and these years have shown
that rain's a part of how life goes
but it's dark and it's late
so I'll hold you and wait
'til your frightened eyes do close

At this point, Mabel and Will joined in with him for the final chorus.

and I hope that you'll know
that nature is so
the same rain that draws you near me,
falls on rivers and land,
and forests and sand.
Makes the beautiful world that you see, in the morning

everything's fine in the morning
the rain'll be gone in the morning
but I'll still be here in the morning.

Will stopped the recording with a click of the button, the twins exchanged no words, only glances during the time the demon tucked the Dictaphone into his coat pocket before straightening his top hat.
"T-thanks, pine t-tree" he stuttered.
Dipper beckoned him over; when he got nearer, Dipper placed a kiss on Will's lips, tasting the salty tears which fell from Will's eyes.
"You're welcome" he replied, pulling away.

Mabel stepped out of the room, coming back with some cold drinks, both visitors spending the whole evening with Dipper.
None of them asked for more.
