*a few hours later Karen walk in, Liv comes down the stairs a as she does, she sees Maddie come in behind them with a worried expression on her face and then she's sees Maya walk in, on crutches and having calmed down a little feels a pang of guilt, Maddie helps Maya over to the couch where Maya sits down, Maddie puts a pillow up for her again, Maya puts her foot up on the pillow and Maddie sits down next to her*
Karen: I still don't understand how you did that
Maya: I just tripped mom
Karen: are you sure?
*karen not quite convinced but left unsure what to think*
Maya: yes mom
Karen: okay, you guys this weekend you're dad and I have to go out of town this weekend, parkers sleeping over at reggie's and joeys on a trip of some kind, I can't remember what, but will you girls be alright by yourself for the weekend?
Maddie: uh yeah sure mom
Karen: no parties or anything like that
*she looks at liv*
Liv: why are you looking at me?! It's not like I'm the rebel in this house
Maddie: but I wouldn't throw a party because I don't like parties
Maya: me neither
Karen: therefore I look at you
Liv: whatever we'll be fine
*liv walks upstairs getting a look from Maddie suggesting if she comes any closer it won't end well for her so she doesn't, clearly Maddie was still pissed at her and she was kinda starting to agree with her until events that would unfold later that evening, she still wasn't completely convinced of Maya's innocence and she was not under any circumstance going to talk to Holden until she knew the complete truth, back downstairs Maddie had decided to go outs use and shoot a few hoops leaving Maya and Karen in the living room*
Maya: mom?
Karen: yeah honey?
Maya: can my friend from New York come over tomorrow, he's in town for a few days looking at colleges and he wants to meet everyone
Karen: I don't see why not, he's welcome to come by, he can even stay for dinner if he'd like to
Maya: thanks mom, I was gonna show him round town but that might be a little difficult now
Karen: yeah but of course he's welcome to come by, we'd be happy to meet some of your friends, that Riley girl we met while we were down there last seemed really nice
Maya: oh riles? Yeah she's amazing, she's my best friend
Karen: alright well I've got to go out and do some grocery shopping I'll be back later okay?
Maya: yeah bye mom
Karen: bye honey
