Chapter 25 | waking up to baby dragons

Reader POV

I felt something pull my hair and I woke up.

I was blinded with adorableness.
Starshock was trying to bite my hair and lightstrike curled up in Hiccups free hand.

"Awww" I whispered.
I gently shook Hiccup awake.
"Hey, Hicc wake up" I whispered.
He slowly woke up.
"Morning milady" He said.
"Morning" I giggled.

He laughed at the sight of the baby dragon trying to pull my hair.
"Good luck with that" he said and picked her up.
She stumbled in his hand and started wrestling her brother.

"Awwww" I said.
"well we're off home today" I said.
"yeah, its a shame its nice here" Hiccup said.
"It is" I agreed.

Lightstrike and starshock were playing around on our pillow when we sat up.
Lightstrike climbed onto my forearm and started biting my shirt.

"No you crazy dragon!" I laughed.
I picked him up and held him in my hand.
Hiccup picked up starshock with one hand and put the other arm around me.

"Its been a great few days" I said.
"Sure has" Hiccup agreed and kissed me on the cheek.
I smiled at the adorable boy.

We turned our heads back to the dragons who where looking at us confused.
"Dragon see dragon do" I said.
I kissed Hiccup on the cheek this time.

The baby dragons looked at us then at our hands.
They copied our kiss by touching our hands with their nose.
"Awwwwww"

"Well be better get ready before the snow sets in" Hiccup said.
"Yeah" I said.

"Wait a minute" I said gesturing for him to stop.
"What?"
"How is it possible for starshock be born without a tail fin when Toothless lost his because of you?"

"Actually thats a good question" Hiccup said.
I looked over at the missing tail.
Suddenly it glowed blue.
"Did you just see that?"
"Yep"
It glowed again.

"But-what?" I said.
I picked up my dragon book and flipped to the night fury page.
"Noth-wait"
In my eyes and only my eyes I saw some hidden blue writing, like another language. 

"We gotta go worry about it later" Hiccup said.

We packed up our camping gear and where about to jump on our dragons.
"Wait Hiccup, should we be flying them? They've had a rough couple of days, especially (d/n)" I said.

"Hmmm, good point" He then turned to Toothless
"Can you survive a one hour flight bud?"

Toothless nodded.
"Thanks bud" he said jumping on.
He pulled me onto Toothless and we flew off to meet the others.

The babies were in my pockets, its not safe when they can't fly.
We reached the beach where we were due to leave from and saw the others already there.

"Hey guys" I said.
"ARE THERE BABIES PLEASE TELL ME THERE ARE" Astrid yelled holding a baby Nadder.

I picked up the babies and showed them off to the others.
"Oh my Thor they're adorable" Astrid fangirled.

"She was born like her dad, no fin, wait how is that-" Valka pointed out.
"I dunno but that's starshock, the boy is lightstrike" I said.

"We don't speak dragon so we don't know our dragons kids names" Astrid said.
I laughed.
"You'll hear it from me when we get back" I said.

We jumped onto our dragons and zoomed off.

Hiccup and I were higher than the others.
(D/n) was talking to Stormfly and Cloudjumper.

The babies were holding onto Toothless's spines on his head and enjoying the feeling of flying.
I heard something click and Hiccup turned to face me.

"Hey"
"Yes?"

"Just wanted to see you" Hiccup said.
"Stop it" I said playfully nudging him.
"Never" he laughed.
"Is that all?" I asked.
"Nope"

Hiccup pulled me over so that I was in front of him.
"You fly Toothless for a while, I just wanna hug you" he said.
I smiled and clicked my foot into the tail gear he made just for me.

Hiccup hugged me from behind and put his head on my shoulder.
"What?" I giggled.
"You just have this dramatic flare" he said.
"I have dramatic flare? You're the one with dramatic flare" I said.

We laughed.
"Well were here" I said.
We flew into the sanctuary and as I turned my foot to land, it slipped and Toothless fell.
Hiccup tried to grab me but I fell off.
Toothless curled around his kids and Hiccup and hit the ground.

I was unlucky.
I fell straight onto a rock that cut my back. It was enough pain to make me unable to move.

"(Y/n)!" Hiccup yelled running over.
"Ow, ow, ow" I whispered to myself.
"You ok?" He asked.
"Its just pain" I said trying to contain the scream inside.

He helped me up and we walked back to the house.
He sat me on the sofa and let the dragons do their thing.
"Thats gonna leave a scar" Astrid said.

"That cut doesn't look good" Valka said.
Hiccup got a bandage and some cloth to clean the cut.
"Lets get you patched up, no flying until it heals"
