Chapter 60 | the magic in us

Reader POV

"(Y/n), please, just wake up"

Those words made my heart break, I don't know how long I've been out, but I know I'm re-gaining consciousness.

"Come on (y-) ow!"

Ow? Did he hurt himself?

I felt two hands around my left hand, they felt soft, and they also felt... Like fabric.

Suddenly I felt a jolt of energy though my body and I sat up gasping for air.

I looked down at my feet trying to figure things out.

"OH GODS (Y/N)! YOU'RE OK!"

Hiccup dived into a hug.

"Yeah, I'm ok" I said hugging him back.

"How long was I out?"

"2 days..." Hiccup said, his voice breaking.

"Oh Thor Hiccup I'm so sorry" I said.

"I don't know w-w-what I'd H-Have done if I... Lost you"

I could feel Hiccups tears soak though my shirt.

"Shhh, its ok, I'm here now" I said.

I pulled him out of the hug and kissed his nose.
I looked him in the eye and frowned.

"Please don't cry..."

I wiped the tears away with my sleeve but they kept on coming back.

"Hiccup..."

I grabbed his hands only to see him flinch, and I saw why...

Blood stained bandages were wrapped around both his hands.

"Hiccup! What happened!" I said.

Flashback (Hiccups POV)

"(Y/N)! PLEASE, please, just wake up..."

3 hours... I'm starting to loose it.

I felt tears form in my eyes and I thought I'd be better to let her rest.
I left her with a kiss and walked downstairs.

"IDIOT! I should never have talked her into this trip!" I told myself.

I flinched in pain as I put my hand against the wall, when I was taking her back from the island, she slipped and I caught her centimetres from the ground, cutting my knuckles open.

I flopped my head on the table as I felt the tears stream down my face.

I let this happen...

I felt the anger inside me bubble up to the surface, I clenched my fists together in rage and stood up, flipping the table and pushing the chair back in the process.

I kicked at the books on the ground and sat in the middle of the floor, my head in my hands, blood covered my good hand as I had just cut it open in the process of the table flip.

I let this happen...

If I loose her... I-I won't be able to live with myself, I love her so much.

I heard the door open but didn't say a word.

"I'll handle this..."

It was my mum.

And probably the other riders after hearing the crash.

"Hiccup, what happened?"

I felt two arms wrap around me.

"I let (y/n) go and get herself knocked out, I don't know if she'll ever wake up" I said.

"Hiccup, she will wake up" my mother assured me.

"What if-"

"No Hiccup she WILL wake up, where is she?"

"Upstairs"

I felt a bandage be wrapped around my other hand.

"Lets go see whats wrong with her"

I sat in a chair beside her, her soft hands in my injured ones.

She will wake up, I just don't know when...

I sighed and looked out the window, it was really late.

I looked down at my girlfriends unconscious body, and frowned.

"Shes just asleep..." I said laying down next to her.

"Just asleep"

Flash back end (back to your POV)

He explained, everything.

"HICCUP!" I said hugging him tightly.

"You didn't have to do that! Its just me"

"(Y/n), its not 'just you' you mean the world to me, if anything happened... I wouldn't be able to forgive myself" he sobbed.

"Don't cry, it'll make me cry and it'll be a mess" I said fighting the tears.

Hiccup just continued to cry.

"It's ok, I'm here now, Hiccup- I love you, and I'd never leave you... Just stop crying please, I love you so much" I said.

I kissed his forehead and hugged him tighter.

Eventually the poor thing fell asleep with his arms around me.

I covered him in blankets and soon fell asleep too, with my arms around him. Re-assuring him that I love him with all my heart.

Hiccup is my world, and knowing he cares this much about me makes my heart throb.

I love him.

And nothing can ever change that.
