I watched Brandon poke David gently with his foot to see if he would react.
"That not how you do it!" I complained. Without warning I slammed my foot into the sleeping-boy's stomach.
He let out a low groan before his eyes fluttered open. "W-Was that...really...necessary?"
I found myself smiling at his confused yet innocent look. A look only my David could pull off.
Before even a letter could escape his lips I pulled him close and gently kissed his cheek, causing his whole face to turn scarlet. "W-What? Why? Where? Where are we? You kissed me!"
Everyone looked as shocked as David, maybe even more so.
"W-We..." Brandon seemed to have lost his ability to speak for a moment. I guess shock does that to you. But was it really that big of a deal? Glancing at the lovesick hybrid, I found myself blushing.
Everything was quiet as the four of us just stared blankly at each other. Suddenly an unearthly howl rang out, causing us all to jump. A sound like that could only belong to an angry hunter like Ivory.
"She's close!" Cass whipped around to face me. "Can you open a portal?"
The answer was definitely no. I had no practice in the field of magic, only fighting. If anything I would probably make the portal explode! But I couldn't tell her the truth or else we'd be trapped in here. So I lied and waited for the worst.
