Once the movie ends I turn to Corey, who is eagerly waiting to see my reacting.

"I-" I speak as Corey's eyes urge me to spit out my words, "I loved it! It was...wonderful." I'm left in astonishment at how much my heart grew attached to a movie I had no clue about until a few hours ago.

"I'm so happy you liked it." He smiles. "I had a feeling you would."

Corey's P.O.V.

I have to force myself not to take Lux and just kiss her right there. The way her face looked when she said that she loved the movie made my heart race. I had never shared my love for this movie with any of my old "friends", but I always knew in the back of my mind that whatever girl I dated liked this movie was far more than just special. I knew Lux was different, but the fact that she obviously seems to genuinely love Paper Moon is making me fall even harder for her.

I glance over at her and she gently smiles, looking away and out the window. I look out to see what she's looking at and I see Jacob and Alicia and the entire fucking herd of rich dicks. Lux turns to me and I can tell by her face that she's feeling nervous and uncomfortable, and she tries to hide it with another smile. Her fingers fumble around with her skirt and I don't know what to do as I see Jacob and Alicia approach the car on the passenger side.

Jacob's typical asshole grin appears as he bends down to tap the glass. Lux is startled and jumps to turn around. She frantically looks back at me. "Uh..uh what do I do?"

"Don't worry, Lux. I'll take care of them." I take her hand and run my thumb across it in attempt to comfort her before I go. I step out of the car and meet the two fuck heads in front of it. Immediately, Alicia starts giggling in her "mean girl" persona. I scoff at her and turn to Jacob. "What do you want?"

"Nothing." He smirks. "I uh just find it funny how you ditch us and think you can just pretend you're some nice guy that takes sweet innocent girls out on drive in dates." Jacob crosses his arms and I hope that Lux is okay. "You must have a plan, Corey, don't you? What- are you gonna get her to put her guard down and uh then," he chuckles, "try to put your guard in her?"

"Shut the fuck up, man. You don't know what you're saying." I spit out, trying to hold my anger back.

"I don't? Well, I was your friend for the past 3 years!" Jacob starts screaming and the people around us are staring. "You don't think I know you? You don't think I know the shit you used to pull!" He shoves me and I stumbled back. I turn to Lux, whose face is in absolute horror. I look back at Jacob and prepare to take him down.

Lux's P.O.V.

I watch as Jacob shoves Corey and I start shaking. What do I do? Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god...
Corey turns to me with a worried look and then turns back to Jacob, his eyebrows lowered in anger. I can vaguely hear Corey through the window glass say, "You were never my friend." before popping Jacob in the jaw so hard that he falls back onto Alicia, who stumbles down too. Corey walks back to the car with his hands curled into fists and his jaw clenched. He stops in front of his door before opening it and I wonder if this is over yet. Finally, he opens the door and sits down, and, to my surprise, he's smiling.

"Let's finish our fucking date, baby!" He exclaims and I giggle in confusion.

"Okay?!" I reply. The engine revs up as we begin to back out. "You alright?"

"Yeah! Yeah? Yeah!" Corey smirks sweetly as though nothing's happened. "Oh, you mean that? Back there?" He says, referring to Jacob who is still lying on the ground holding his face and Alicia dusting the dirt off her designer skirt. "Yeah, I'm good." He nods and grins, scrunching his nose. "Now we're just going to continue our perfect date." Corey winks as we drive back onto the road.

"Okay, sounds...great!" I say, going along with him. I watch as his hands grip the steering wheel tightly and his jaw still clenched but in a smile. What the fuck, he's so god damn sexy.

The car comes to a stop as we approach a red light and I turn to Corey, who's eyes shift to my lips and back to my eyes. In just a second we gravitate towards each other, hands all over as we kiss. I can't get enough of him. We're sitting here and making out at 10:00 P.M. at a red light, as we both know there are a train of cars behind us, but we don't care. We ignore our "taking it slow" agreement, we ignore the richies who tried to ruin our night, we ignore the whole world and kiss here in this moment.
