will you still love me if i stopped writing?
when i cannot hear anymore, when thoughts
become, for me, as blurry as vision,
though emotions are crystal-clear
(they would remain untainted, i'm sure),
will you still say, "You matter to me,"
as i say to you; although not expressed
in verse?
o, what i would give the world to find
the answer! will you still be here
when my words run out and all i have
are smiles and stares and
caresses from my hand to yours? my darling,
my love for you transcends words, but i'm
afraid if i stopped writing them,
would you stop loving me, too?— A. P.
