"Have you got everything?" Sean asked Beth, holding the handle of his own suitcase. A backpack hung lazily off of one shoulder and a hoodie was tied around his waist. He wore a pair of denim jeans and a t-shirt covered in little septic eyes. The hoodie around his waist was his usual favourite blue one. Beth nodded.
"Think so." Her turtle shell backpack was laying upside down on the floor. She scooped it up and looped each strap over both of their arms. Her green hoodie wasn't zipped up, revealing the same style shirt as Sean. Hers was the exact same size as Sean's, even in a men's fit, and hung loosely on her frame. Her black skinny jeans and green Vans completed her outfit. "I might be a bit over packed."
"You always are." He laughed. "Come on, let's wait outside for the taxi."
Beth grabbed her suitcase from where it was leaning against the wall. Sean opened the door and stepped outside, Beth following. He swiftly locked the door with his keys. He dropped the keys into his back pocket and left the apartment. He let go of his suitcase and let it stand beside Beth's. Her green suitcase was bright in comparison to Sean's brown one. Beth pulled out her phone, still connected to the WiFi in the apartment. She went to Instagram, turned the camera to the front facing one and secretly took a selfie. Sean was staring at his feet in the picture whereas Beth wore a wide, silly smile. She posted the photo, tagged Sean and left a photo description which said 'this little shit thinks he's going to have a peaceful flight. Little does he know, I went to sleep super late and I'm ready to stay up all night. *evil face*'.
The taxi pulled up to the kerb. Sean took both suitcases to the boot of the car. Beth leaned in through the window.
"Is it alright if we put our things in the boot?" The driver released a latch inside the car and the boot popped open.
"Sure."
"Thanks." While Sean stocked the boot, Beth entered the car and took a seat. She clipped the belt around her and dumped her backpack at her feet.
"Where are you both off to?"
"Athlone train station, please."
"Going somewhere nice?"
"Boston. He's been invited to a convention and I'm just tagging along." Beth chuckled. "Also, it's good for work." Sean hopped in the car.
"All done. Ready?" Beth nodded with a grin. The car started back up again and began to move down the road.
"How far away is the station?"
"A few minutes. I'm just too lazy to walk with our suitcases." He shrugged. "Plus, I wanted more time to eat breakfast and have a coffee."
"Do they have a coffee shop at the station?"
"Yeah. They sell tea there, too." Beth smiled. "I knew you would be happy about that."
"I'm just hungry."
"That's your own fault for going to bed late." Beth flipped her middle finger up and placed her backpack on the middle seat to block Sean out. "Hey, that isn't fair."
"Stop picking on me and maybe I will talk to you again."
A few minutes later, they reached the train station. They both split the fare and removed their luggage from the boot. They hauled the bags onto the platform, reached for their tickets and held them tightly as the train rushed into the station.
"Just on time, hmm?" Beth mumbled. She turned her head to face Sean who was looking on at the train.
"Yeah. Doesn't look like it's too busy yet, either. Hopefully it doesn't get much busier."
