THE ALPHA'S MATE
I woke up to the sound of howling.
With a gasp, I leapt off my cot, throwing off my thin blanket. I'm late, I thought. The alpha's going to kill me.
I was so hurried that I spent only ten minutes on my makeup. By the time I'd left the room, the howling had stopped.
"You're late, you worthless cub!" snarled the alpha, leaping out of nowhere.
"I'm sorry," I said, but before I could finish, I was promptly kneed in the ribs, and I tumbled down the steps of the alpha's million-dollar mansion into the garden. "Wait, Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon!" I cried. But he was gone.
"Hey, weakling," said another werewolf, "get up. It's time to find our mates."
"What's the point? You'll never get a mate anyway!" said his friend, and they laughed at me. I got up, thinking they were right, as I stared at my visage reflected by the polished marble walls of Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon's mansion. My shining midnight raven ebony hair and icy bright ocean eyes were disgusting.
"It's time to find your mate!" yelled Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon, coming out of nowhere again. We all transformed into our wolf forms, and the full moon rose into the sky.
Suddenly I picked up the scent of what could only be my mate. Roses ...cologne...strawberries...beautiful manly smells swirled into one. I looked around, but nobody was looking at me.
Except the alpha.
He pounced on me and we transformed back to human, him on top of me, his dark melting cold warm chocolate orbs staring into the depths of my soul. His grip was painful but everything else faded when he growled out one word: "Mine."
As he hovered over me, he slowly leaned down, and soon we were kissing. Suddenly, one of our pack howled, "The rogues! They're coming!"
Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon transformed into his wolf form again. Soon we were attacked by the rogue wolves and Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon engaged their leader in battle.
Despite being the strongest, most perfect werewolf in existence, Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon was severely injured while I just stood there, watching my pack fight the rogues. I screamed his name and ran towards my mate to protect him.
Suddenly the moon began to glow and I transformed into my wolf form, which had somehow become a glowing white. Everyone gasped, "It's the moon goddess!"
Alpha Lycander Deowolfus Mooning Moon sat up, healed by the power of my beauty. "I love you," he said.
"No, I do!"
We all turned to see a vampire—a vampire!—bounding out of the woods. "I am Oliversmith," he said, "and I love you, moon goddess."
He was maybe the most beautiful man I'd ever seen. But now I didn't know who to choose!
