cocoon:

14 2 1

locked away
in the smallest of houses
lived a girl.
she never had the grace
of seeing another face
other than her fathers'.
he kept her well fed
and decently happy
until the day she wasn't.
she saw him with her own eyes,
his own being very blue.
his hair the color of dark chocolate,
and skin like pearls.
he walked past her house,
something no one else had done,
just to look.
he took a peek in every window,
while she hid and watched.

until she got careless and he saw her.

he smiled. and he kept on smiling.

then he left.
...

she hadn't ever seen something so beautiful.
