I knew you,
Without knowing you
I knew how you politely laughed
at all my lame jokes
I knew how you liked
brushing your hair back when you feel cold
I knew how you unconsciously
bite your lips when you're confused
I knew how you weren't fond of Oreo,
but bought me the milkshake just to amuse
I knew how you were insecure about your forehead,
so it was always mine you constantly flick
I knew how you hated peanut butter,
but loved nuts, that’s rather epic,
I knew how you tapped your guitar
when you can’t remember the lyrics
I knew how you loved all kinds of Math,
but strangely disliked Statistics
I knew how you hated social networking sites,
you think they're a distraction
I knew how you loved competitive swimming,
I even made a banner with "Go...hyung!" as a caption
I knew that it was you
who stole my favourite pen
(Which you never gave back, pfft)
I knew how it annoyed you,
when I spazzed over other Korean men
I knew how you loved calling me 'little girl',
I protested about it but you only smirked
I knew how you liked mix and matching clothes,
it should have looked weird but with you it just worked
I knew how you were influenced to smoke,
it surprised me that you stopped just because I said so
I knew how you don't like to drink,
but jokingly suggested we both have a go
I knew how you secretly defended me from your friends
who thought it rather strange to be around me so much
I knew it was our different nationalities, different coloured skin,
but hey, we're still both Asian, close enough?
I knew that you were leaving,
And that you didn't like goodbye
I knew that it was going to hurt,
I'm not going to lie
I knew you
Without knowing you
In the end, even after knowing all this,
Your name? I don't know, I just jokingly call you 'hyung'

Yes, this is related to the previous poem.
No, he never returned my favourite pen.
Yes, he left, but we're still friends.
No, I already know his name, I just wanted to write in the context during the time when I didn't know his name. It was frustrating, honestly. Meh. So, as revenge, during the time I didn't know his name, actually until now even if I already do know his name, I called him 'Hyung', which always annoyed him, hahaha!
'Hyung' is Korean, and from a source I found this will explain what it means: "This word is literally translated as "older/elder brother." It can be used to refer to older male relatives (eg: cousins) or close friends as well though. Often times this person might be admired in some way by the younger person. Please note that only BOYS/MEN are supposed to use this, not GIRLS. People will just laugh at you if you are a girl and say this..."
So now you basically know why he doesn't like me calling him such. LOL. I still do though. Mehehe, and I don't really care that it would be funny if I said it.
Whoever here is Korean and is offended by this, I apologize.
I hope you guys like it. Feel free to comment and give constructive criticism, both will be highly appreciated.
