Confessions of the Bad Boy and the Nerd
Today is going to be a great day!
Mama said that new neighbors were coming! Maybe I could get a playmate, teehee!
I jumped out of bed and opened the door. I saw Shima about to knock. She wrinkled her nose when she saw my outfit. Shima grabbed my hand and dragged me back inside my bedroom.
Out of all the maids in this house, Shima is the one I liked least. I liked Ella better, but she's on vacation right now.
Shima began lecturing me as she picked out my clothes; navy dress, pink sweater, mittens, a white scarf, and finally, my blue sneakers. I stared impatiently at her, holding out my arms.
Shima grabbed me under my armpits and carried me to my bed. After dressing me, she told me that my Mama was expecting me for breakfast.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes, miss Lucy," Shima deadpanned.
Alrighty then! I rushed full-speed towards our dining room. I almost hit the Rene' vase that Daddy bought for Mama, but it was okay!
Mama was at the table, drinking some orange juice. She smiled gently when she saw me.
"Lucy, sweetie, let's eat first, okay?" Mama was so beautiful and kind, I wish I could be lik her someday. Shima always said that it will never come true. I think Shima's jealous me because I'm pretty, that's what mama says.
Shima just arrived at the dining table when I had sat down. She smiled politely at mama, "Good mormin, Mistress Elaine! The movers will be here in 30 minutes, I suggest Miss Lucy get a move on,"
Mama wiped the corners of her mouth with a napkin.
She smiled at Shima,"Alright then. Please excuse us."
Shima left the room, not before glaring at me.
I shrank down in my seat.
I'm so afraid of Shima!
"Lucy..," mama looked directly at me.
I looked back.
...
...
...
...
"Oh! You are just SOOO cute!" Mama pounced at me. I laughed as she smushed our cheeks together, cooing at me.
Then she tickled my sides. I kept laughing as she picked me up and spun me around. I grinned at my mama, Shima didn't know that my mama was no mature woman. She was very childish and immature.
I looked out at the large window in the dining room.
WOW! It's snowing!
I pointed excitedly at mama, she seemed to notice and put me down.
She looked sternly at me, "Remember Lucy, come back home at exactly one hour! Okiie?" She kissed my cheeks and I kissed her back.
I rushed our the door and into the snowy world!
Brr! It's so cold!
Christmas lights hung everywhere! Even on the dog bouses and stuff!
I looked at the house on the left of ours. I saw Mr. Waters clearing snow on his driveway. Bouncing, I reached his house and smiled at him. He smiled back at me and I swear I heard him say 'cute!'
"Good Morning!" I chirped.
"Good Morning, dear!"
"Want me to help you?"
"Oh, would you? I still have to wrap up the presents, Augustus might search his!"
"Yeah? Is Gus here?"
"Yes he is, dear. But he's still asleep. Maybe about in a few minutes?"
"Okay! I'll start shoveling now!"
"I'll be inside!"
Mr. Waters left me.
I began shoveling as I hummed out a random song.
Shovel!
Shovel!
Shovel!
Uwaah! This is so tiring!
I sat down on the snowy pavement. My arms turned sore. I could feels tears stringing my eyes.
"Need help with that?" I looked up and saw a boy about my age, wearing a green sweater.
He had chocolate brown eyes, like mine.
He stared impatienly at me.
I felt heat coming to my face? Why is it so hot? It's winter!
He sighed and grabbed the shovel. I stared at him as he cleared the drive way in a few minutes. Whoa, he's amazing.
"Now that's how you clean a drive way!" He cheered.
I smiles at him as he handed me back the shovel.
"Thank you!"
Mr. Waters came outside carrying two hot chocolates. He looked questioningly at me.
"He helped me clear out the drive way," I smiled as he handed each of us hot chocolates. The boy seemed taken back of Mr. Waters' kindness but he accepted the hot chocolate anyway. Mr. Waters left inside to finish the presents.
I looked at the boy as we drank our hot chocolate at the same time. He was so cute.
I decided to make the first move, "Thanks for earlier. I'm Lucy Mavis."
He laughed at me. I didn't know why, but I laughed at him!
He had a brown mustache!
He looked at me, "Hey, Luigi!"
I snapped at him, "I'm Lucy! LUCY!"
He looked unfazed.
"I'm Francis. Francis Drew Mason," he held out a hand.
I shook it. His hand warmed my cold one.
"Nice to meet you, " I muttered.
We were best friemds. I looked up to him ever since that day.
It was a few weeks later.
Francis (aka Drewy as I like to call him) and me (aka Luce as he like to call me) became best friends. We were studying at the same school, "Arclight School". I was a second grader then, he was in fourth grade. I had no friends, only Drewy but he was in fourth grade.
One day, the second graders, third graders and foruth graders were grouped together, because the principal wanted to challenge the teachers if they could handle us.
After we were mixed, I was lost. I was the only one without a friend. But that's okay, it's fine being alone.
But I lied.
I don't want to be alone. I don't want having nobody to talk to.
I tried searching for Drewy. But when I searched for him, I saw him with a girl.
She was so much prettier than me. Her blonde hair looked golden, her eyes were so blue. Her skin was so much creamier than mine. I never really cared about apperances. But with the way Drewy smiled and laughed at her not-so-funny jokes, I knew he liked pretty girls.
And I will never be one of them.
I came closer, hoping to talk to him.
"Uhh," I stammered. "D-Drewy?"
His friends laughed at him. "Drewy?!" They laughed harder.
Drew turned red. He glared at me, took the girl's hand and ran away.
He hated me ever since.
I hated myself, too.
I studied really hard, just to get the two-year advanced classes. He never cared.
Our friendship was gone, just like that.
I miss you, Francis.
I really do.
