What Begins It All

(Aphmau's P.O.V)

The sun shone brightly throughout the room and covered it in light. I turned my head from the window to Zane who had his arm around me in bed. I smiled at him, I loved him so much. He slowly awoke and ,once he saw me awake, kissed my forehead.
"Good morning," he said with a smile.
"Morning," I said, moving closer towards him and he tightened his grip around me.
"How did you sleep?" He said with his eyes closed.
"Alright, but I woke up in the middle of the night feeling a bit sick."
Zane opened his eyes and sat up a bit and said,
"Are you ok?"
"I'm fine," I replied not entirely truthfully, "I'm sure it's nothing."
Zane looked at me not completely trusting me and felt me forehead.
"Aph! You're burning up! I'm going to ring for the doctor."
I knew I couldn't stop him so I let him, besides, he already knew something was up so there was no point trying to deny it. Once he was back I got changed since the doctor would be here soon. As I pulled off my top I felt Zane wrap his arms around my waist and kiss my neck. I turned to face him and kissed him. He frowned and I asked,
"What's wrong?"
"You should have told me something was wrong."
I looked at him calmly,
"I didn't want you to worry."
He raised his voice slightly,
"I'm supposed to worry about you, your my wife for Irene's sake." He smiled and our lips meet again. I knew he was right but I thought I would see if it was anything first before I made a fuss. I finished getting dressed and Zane sat next the me on the bed and held my hand.
"It could be nothing" He said, "but there is no harm in checking. Never forget that, Aph."
I rested my head on his shoulder.
"I won't." I said and we sat awaiting the doctor. Once the doctor arrived he got to work almost immediately, taking my temperature, checking my pulse, it was like he was looking for something greater than a cold. He looked over his results for a long time and I started to get worried. What if it wasn't nothing! What if there was something really wrong with me! What if... At that moment Zane seemed to catch onto my nerves and put his arm around me, it was at that point I realised I was shaking. He smiled,
"Hey, don't worry. If it is something we'll take care of it together." I loved him so much, I couldn't ever describe it. The doctor finally seemed finished with his results and Zane said sternly,
"Well, what is it." The doctor looked at me with a slight smile.
"Lady Aphmau, I have the pleasure of telling you that from my results I believe you to be pregnant." The doctor finished and I fell silent. "I'll leave you too alone." He said and smiled his way out the door. Zane looked at me,
"You're...pregnant!" I smiled,
"I guess I am."
Zane lifted me into the air holding me in his arms and spun me around. Once he finally put me down he rubbed the back of his neck and said,
"I can't believe it! We've only been trying...what? for a month now." I laughed,
"Well Zane, I never imagined you as a father." He kissed me once again,
"Quiet you."
