(Zane's P.O.V)
~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a few months and waiting for the baby hasn't been easy. Not only has Aph been slowly getting housebound but my ceremony of Lord of Okasis is on it's way. My father finally stepped down due to a growing illness and has decided to move out of town after the coronation, leaving me, Aph and the baby to start over. Me and Aph have also been trying to guess the gender of the baby, we both agree we will love the baby no matter what gender but secretly I would like a boy. Someone I can teach to fight and share my interests I had when I was a kid. I'm a little worried about the coronation though. It's around the time Aphmau's due so I've asked for the ceremony to be quick so she and I can get back home. Now, all we can do is hope everything goes well.
6 months later (Coronation Day)
"Aph are you sure you want to stand near the altar?" I say holding Aphmau in my arms,
"I'll be fine Zane, besides it's traditional." I'm still not completely happy about Aphmau being quite far from help; just in case.
"Remember what I said Aphmau, don't be afraid to say if anything's wrong." She smiles so beautifully I can hardly ever be mad at her. When Jeffery calls me to start the ceremony I hate letting her and my baby go, I kiss Aph and her baby bump and Jeffery finally manages to pull me away.
"Don't worry Zane, she'll be okay. Besides, Beatrice is behind her at all times." Jeffrey says with a smile. I know he's right but I can't suppress my fear.
When the ceremony finally begins I see so many faces in the aisles, staring at me, whispering, smiling, so I instantly feel pressured. I look towards the altar with the Priest ready with the gold necklace and cup but I'm not interested. I look straight towards Aphmau who starts to look pale, she looks straight at the floor trying to keep herself up. I want to rush to her but if I'm quick the ceremony will be over and I can get her home. When I reach the altar the priest says a few words and is about to place the necklace around my neck when I look over to Aphmau, she's ghost white and is swaying slightly; I can't holding it in anymore,
"Aphmau, are you ok?"
With that...Aphmau collapses, I sprint to her and catch her in my arms before she hits the floor.
"Aph! Beatrice, get the doctor and tell him to meet us in our room!" Beatrice hurries straight out the door and I look at Aphmau laying in my arms unconscious. The priest looks at me and says,
"Zane! What about the ceremony.."
"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CEREMONY. MY WIFE AND KID ARE
BOTH AT STAKE HERE!!" I feel myself start to glow with my Jury powers and I suppress it at best I can. I look at Jeffery and he catches onto my concern,
"Zane, take Aphmau to the doctor. I'll explain the situation to everyone." Jeffrey puts a hand on my shoulder,
"It will be okay, Zane." He says. I sprint out the door to our room and place Aphmau on the bed where the doctor is ready with his equipment. Beatrice holds me back,
"Zane, wait outside." She says.
"What!" I say sternly.
"Let us take it from here." She escorts me quickly towards the corridor outside and shuts the door. I slide down the wall until I'm sitting down on the floor, I've never been this worried before.
Finally after what feels like hours, Beatrice comes out the room with a baby in arms with tears rolling down her face. She did it, Aph had her baby. Beatrice hands me the baby with trembling hands and says,
"It's a boy." I'm so happy I hold him so tightly and kiss his forehead. I look up at Beatrice with a smile and I notice her tears aren't tears of joy.
"Beatrice?" I ask, "Why is he out here with me and not Aphmau?" I say so sternly that it wipes the smile straight off my face. Beatrice looks up at me and says,
"Z-Zane..Aphmau..is..." I freeze. With my son clutched tightly in my arms I run into the bedroom and shout,
"APHMAU!"
