You couldn't remember the last time you let your hair out. You always had it in a low ponytail, tucked under your shirt.

You always thought all the other girls were prettier than you, no matter how many angles you looked at it, you always thought you were ugly. So, you hid in the shadows, away from people.

Then, they came.

One human fell down a mountain and changed humanity by saving the monsters, bringing them to the surface. And what do you know, you had a house next door to you, with a monster family.

There was Toriel, a nice goat/cow like monster. She treated you (and basically everybody) like her child, which caused you to quickly warm up to her, as you never had a mother or father. There was Undyne and Alphys, who had some sort of relationship.... You soon found out from Frisk, the human who brought the monsters free, and who also lived in the monster house next door, that they were dating. There was also Papyrus, the somewhat hyper skeleton who was always wanting to cook spaghetti for you.

And then, there was Sans.

Sans was without a doubt your favorite. Thankfully, you were use to hiding your feelings, so you didn't think he noticed the somewhat giant crush you had on him.

Frisk sure did though. The little kid was always bugger you about it, texting you every day with something new to say about Sans, which always made you blush.

Today, Toriel asked you to take care of Frisk. Apparently, she had a job to do, and nobody would be able to take care of her, so, you agreed. It's not like you didn't love Frisk, she was like your younger sibling. Tori then also added that Sans would be home first, and that she let him know to pop into your house, before dashing out your door.

As soon as she left, Frisk then started to poke your arm. You giggled slightly at her antics and looked at the child.

"Yes?" your voice was quiet. Even though you had become friends with Frisk (and the others), you still couldn't help but be shy, your hidden insecurities being the blame for it.

She pulled out her phone, typing something in the Notes app, before showing you. It read:'Are you excited for Sans?'

You blushed and horribly tried to hide it, but Frisk had seen it, and smirked in a childish way. But, they didn't pester you about it, just turning on the television and watching.

That was odd... usually Frisk would tease you about it for what would seem like years, but they were oddly not bringing it up...

Frisk didn't like to talk, like yourself, but for reasons nobody knew. It's not like you minded, because you didn't, but you couldn't help but feel curious about it.

"Hey kiddo's"

You jumped, your head spinning, only to see a short, grinning skeleton. Of course, Sans would take any opportunity to scare you, joke you, pun you, and prank you. He sure was a handful...

...But that's what made you love him: his humor. You had never met a human as funny as himself, even if he was a douche sometimes.

You placed a hand over your heart. "S-Sans! You scared me...." your voice grew quieter with each word, before you were looking down at your lap, mentally cursing your shyness.

"Yeah, looks like I rattled you," Sans chucked, ruffling your hair (or the top of it), messing it up badly. You groaned quietly, glaring at him. You stood before mumbling something about fixing your hair, before you walked off, going to fix it.

Sans watched as you left the room, a look of guilt shining his white pupils. He felt Frisk poke him, and the skeleton faced them, before a phone was pointed in his face.

'You should apologize, you know how she feels about her hair...'

The last part was a lie: nobody knew. Nobody had seen her hair, only the top part, which was a (hair color) color, one that Sans loved.

He followed you, and headed towards your room, where you most likely were. Forgetting the fact you never wanted anybody to see you with your hair down, he opened the door.

"Hey, kiddo, I just wanted to-"

He looked at you and froze.

Next to your door was your mirror, which you were currently standing in front of. You appeared to be brushing your hair, but you stopped mid-brush, the comb intertwined in some locks, your eyes wide with shock, locking with Sans'.

You had your hair down.

And to Sans, you looked absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

But you didn't think that. You crashed back into reality and pulled the comb from your hair, hurriedly trying to tie up your hair with the black hair tie on your wrist, the one that was most likely holding your hair up previously.

Sans didn't want that, though. He rushed over and grabbed your wrists, stopping you from tying up your hair, letting it fall. You whimpered slightly, a pink lush tainting your cheeks.

"...why do you hide it?" he asked softly, yet seriously.

"I'm... not pretty, like other girls. So... I hide away..." you replied.

"Don't hide, (Name). You're beautiful," Sans spoke, moving your wrists, which you had used to cover your face. When your bright red face was revealed, he chuckled at you, causing you to go redder, if possible.

"I really like you, ya know." He suddenly said, cutting the silence in half and back. You widened your eyes at him, astounded he thought (and said) that.

When the silence was he replied, his smile turned to a slight frown, before he side, stepping away from you. "Of course, a human could never love a monster... pretend I never said that."

He let go of your wrists and went to leave, but you acted. You took a big step and grabbed the sleeve of his jacket, stopping. He went to look at you, only for your face to tackle his neck, trying to hide your embarrassment.

"I like you too..." you muttered, making Sans spine shiver with pleasure, a blue blush tainting his cheeks. He rested his hands on your waist, hugging you back.

"Just, don't hide yourself anyone. Wouldn't want you to be left behind..."
