You've been working for your city's local newspaper for a while, and everyone seems to love you. You started out as some random girl with a small part in the paper, but slowly progressed your way to being the most popular column in the entire paper. You've met some pretty interesting people and done many crazy interviews, but this next one you were going to do excited you the most. You were scheduled to interview Hunter Hayes.
You've been a Hayniac for about a year, and you couldn't believe how great he is! You were stoked to meet him and interview him.
You are currently sitting in a booth at a cafe in the center of the city, waiting for Hunter to arrive. You checked your phone and saw that he still had fifteen minutes until he was supposed to be there.
"Are you Ms. Y/L/N?" you hear a familiar Cajun accent ask, and you look up to see Hunter Hayes standing in front of you. You smile and nod. "And you must be Hunter Hayes." He laughs and sits across from you at the table.
"So, do you want to get started?" you ask him. He shrugs and studies the pen and notepad you have ready in front of you. "Uh, yeah. If that's alright with you."
You smile and set a small microphone on the table in front of you. "Is it okay if I record this in case I miss anything?" "Of course, whatever you need to do," he replies, fidgeting with his hands in front of him on the tabletop. You sigh and look at your first question. "And before we begin, I'd like to let you know that if there are any questions you don't feel comfortable answering, just say so and you don't have to answer them." "Sounds good."
"Okay, so the first questions I'll be asking were sent in from fans. The first one says, 'Hunter, is there a certain someone you sang Wanted to?'" you start. You look up and notice Hunter rub the back of his neck nervously. "You don't have to answer that. I'll skip to the next one," you say quickly, cursing at yourself for not reading through the fan questions before hand.
"No, it's okay. Yes, I did sing it to a certain girl, but it didn't work out," Hunter answers, having a sad look in his eyes. You feel bad for him, but you're mostly mad at yourself for asking that question.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Sorry if this sounds nosy, but is that same girl the inspiration for some of your other songs, about how you got your heart broken and such?" you ask, feeling curious. Across the table Hunter chuckles. "Wow, you made that question seem really professional. Um, yeah, she was my inspiration for several other songs."
"Your fans have noticed your hair is styled differently," you say, hoping to lift the mood. He sits up and runs a hand through his hair. "Yeah, it makes me look older." He smiles at you and you take a sip from your drink before jotting down his exact words.
"This next question is also from a fan. It says, 'How does the band get along? Does it feel like you're brothers, or that you're just being forced to like each other?'"
"We're like brothers, definitely. We have lots of fun and get a lot done. But we mostly have fun," he answers, laughing a little. You smile and ask the next question. "How do you like life on the road?"
His face lights up a little. "Living on the road is great. It's a lot of fun, and we've even got a studio in the back, which is awesome. We also have a Wii, which is pretty distracting from time to time. But overall it's... it's just a great experience."
You continue the interview a while longer before you run out of questions."Well, that seems tto be the last of the questions. Got anything to say before the interview ends?" He smiles and shrugs. "Uh... thanks, for everything. Without my fans I'd be nowhere near where I am now," he says, making you smile down at your notepad while you copy down his answer. After you're done you shut off the microphone and pack your stuff into your bag before standing to leave.
As you walk past Hunter on the way out the door, you feel his hand envelope your wrist. You stop and turn around. "Yeah?"
"Um, would you maybe like to get a coffee sometime?" he asks nervously. You search his face for any sign that he might be joking. "Really?" you ask, not believing your ears. He immediately blushes and looks a little hurt. "I mean, I get it if you don't want to, I just thought that-" "Hunter, I'd love to," you interrupt him. He snaps his head up to meet your eyes. "Really?"
You laugh, "Yeah. I'd love to get coffee with you."
