Thanks for the request, SydneyHopeVampire! Hope you enjoy!

Y/N,

I'm leaving for awhile to think. I just can't stand the thought of you with someone else, so I need some time to cool off. I don't know when I'll be back, but I need some time.

Love you always,

Hunter

You drop the letter as you feel more tears pour from your eyes. You hurriedly pull your phone out of your back pocket and try to call Hunter. The phone rings several times before going to his voicemail.

"Hey, this is Hunter Hayes. I can't come to the phone right now, but-"

You leave a message before angrily hang up and throw your phone to the ground. You hear it shatter, but you pay no attention to it. All you can think about is Hunter.

Is he okay? Where did he go? Will he ever come back?

These questions swirl in your mind, making you dizzy. The walls seem to close in around you and the air suddenly thickens, making it hard to breathe. Sobbing, you stagger to the front door and bound outside. The fresh air hits you like you've just been submerged in a freezing lake. You slide into a sitting position on the porch steps and cry. When you have no tears left, you fall into a dreamless slumber. (A/N: Idk who says slumber, but oh well)

<<Hunter's POV>>

I wonder what she's doing right now.

I've been gone for three hours. Three hours I've been away from my true love, and three hours I've wasted on playing Candy Crush in the parking lot of Subway.

Don't judge.

I still love Y/N, I really do, but the gut-wrenching truth is that she's in love with someone else; Devon. And she led me on the entire time.

I angrily grab my phone and log onto Instagram again. I don't know why, but I've constantly been pulling that picture of her and Devon up. Maybe it's to prove to myself that yes, she really is cheating, or maybe there's something I missed?

As soon as the image of my girlfriend being kissed by another person loads, anger clouds my vision and I throw my phone to the ground. I hear it shatter, but I ignore it. I sit with my head in between my knees, my hands running through my hair frantically.

What am I going to do?

Suddenly I get a notification on my phone. I reluctantly pick my cracked phone off the floor and check it. It's a message from Y/N.

"I'm sorry, Hunter. Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. Please come home and I'll explain everything. Please. I love you," her strangled voice comes through the speaker, breaking my heart. Maybe it was all a misunderstanding?

But I can't just come back home after storming out like that, can I?

...

I am.

With that, I set my car into drive and start off towards my Y/N. The entire drive flies by, and within seconds I'm parking in our small driveway. My eyes trail up the porch steps and stop when I see a crumbled figure laying on the steps, shaking.

Y/N.

As fast as the speed of light I unbuckle and throw the car door open, bounding up to where Y/N lies. Her breath comes out ragged and her body is trembling. My heart shatters for her.

I slide one hand under her knees and one to support her head as I carry her back inside. I kick the door closed behind us and gently set her down on the couch. She stirs slightly, and when I study her face, I notice tears rolling down her face.

<<Your POV>>

You try to stay still as he lays you down on the couch. As he finally lets you go, you can't help the tears coming from your eyes. You don't ever want to be away from him. Ever. And it breaks your heart that you hurt him so bad.

"Y/N?" you hear his hesitant, gentle voice whisper in your ear. You turn over to hide your face in the couch. A soft hand is placed on your back and starts tracing soothing patterns. Even though he thinks you cheated on him, he still hates it when you cry. You cry even harder, hoping he doesn't notice, but to no avail.

"Y/N, you know how much I hate it when you cry. Please don't cry, beautiful," he whispers, and you catch the sadness in his voice. You sniffle and sit up. You avoid his eyes, which you know must be full of raw emotion, and hug him. He doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around you firmly and squeeze you like he'll never see you again.

After a few minutes of hugging, you let go. You wipe your hands over your eyes and sheepishly look up into his eyes.

"I'm so s-sorry, Hunt. Me a-and Devon, we're just friends. I promise. I love you," you cry. His face breaks into a relieved smile, and it makes your insides swarm with butterflies.

"I love you, too, Y/N. Always."
