It's like I'm not enough,
I'm never enough,
I'm always a step behind
my friends
and slowly falling
back
while they run
forward.
I have to be the one
That doesn't break
That always fakes
The smile
So everyone knows
It'll be fine.
But deep inside
I cannot hide
The truth
It is just that.
Glass may seem
Perfection,
Yet when we peer closely
We see
The cracks and chips
That span the surface
A spiderweb of veins
Beneath a veneer of lies.
