Chapter 1
Isadora
I walked around the house, feeling very annoyed from the loud music, laughing people, and couples showing way to much public display of affection. Okay, maybe I did make out with my boyfriend at parties, but we weren't as full-on as those people.
Most of the time.
I sighed, rubbing my forehead. Where on earth was he? I hadn't seen him at all and I should up half an hour ago, so I had no idea if he was okay or not.
Seb was right. We definitely shouldn't have come to the party.
It wasn't my fault Daxton Freaking Stupid Smythe took off to the party and I had to make sure he didn't get into any trouble.
I checked everywhere in the house. The lounge, the kitchen, the living room. I didn't dare go to the bedrooms though because I did not want to know what could have been going on in there.
I found my friend Stacey in the kitchen. "Hey," she said with a smile when she saw me. "Nice party, right?"
"I can't really enjoy it," I said. "Have you seen Dax? I l can't find him and I'm really worried."
"There's nothing to worry about," she said. "He's eighteen. He can handle himself."
"Not really," I said. "When he gets his hands on alcohol, nobody can predict what can happen. One minute, he can be crying over something really small, then he could snap at something again really small, then he could probably get into a fight, which really can't happen because he hates getting into fights but when he consumes alcohol...." I sighed and shook my head. "So, have you seen him?"
Stacey sighed. "He was in here a while ago. Drinking."
I groaned. "Great, because I have no idea where he is and...."
"Isadora, relax," Stacey said. "Just call him."
"I can't," I said. "He sneaked off here and left his phone at home so nobody could call him. I'm going to go look for him again. If you see him and he's sober, can you tell him I'm looking for him? And if he's drunk, make sure he doesn't get into any trouble?"
"Yeah, of course," she said. "I'll keep my eye out for him."
I thanked her before going back to looking around the house for Dax. Why couldn't I find him?
More importantly, why did he have to sneak off here? Every single time he drank, something bad happened. Making out with his brother's girlfriend, sleeping with his best friend before they started dating, getting into a fight with his girlfriend's ex-crush.
I swear, he definitely wasn't coming to another party.
I walked outside where quite a few people were either in or sitting by the pool. What caught my attention was a bunch of them were looking up, chanting a name over and over.
My boyfriend's name.
I looked up, seeing Dax standing on the roof, pumping up the crowd. "Dax!" I called. He looked at me with a smile. "What are you doing?!"
"I'm going to jump in the pool!" he said.
"What?!" I asked, looking at the pool then back at him. "No way! That's dangerous!"
"Don't be a stick in the mud," someone beside me said. I had no idea who that person even was, so I ignored them and looked at Dax.
"Dax, you're going to get hurt!" I said. "Get down, please!"
