Chapter 8

I was laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling. I never wanted to do anything anymore. I was too afraid that someone would hurt me. Seb. Artemis. Ty. Everyone.

At least I had Isadora with me. She would never abandon me like everyone else has.

Isadora walked into the bedroom and sat down on the edge. "How are you feeling?" she asked.

"Bored. The ceiling is an ugly color."

"The whole apartment has that color," Isadora said.

       "The apartment is ugly."

"You kind of sound like the old Dax again," she said.

"I am the old Dax," I said.

Isadora sighed. "I wish I could agree, but I can't. Dax, you have to talk to me. Something else is going on with you. What?"

"Nothing is," I said. "I'm still the same person. Everyone else is changing. I did nothing to them and they're all out to get me. Seb. Artie. Ty. Even Stacey and Leanne. I heard them, Isa. They said they're going to take you away from me."

"They didn't say that," I said. "They're worried about you."

       I scoffed. "Highly unlikely."

       "Dax...."

"You did not hear them," I said. "I did. They said that they hate me and they're going to try their hardest to take you away from me. Everyone is trying to take you away, Isadora. Please don't leave me."

She didn't reply. Instead, she looked down. I couldn't believe it. She was....she was planning on leaving me.

"No," I said, my voice barely above a whisper as I sat up. "Isa....You....You can't leave me."

"I'm not going to leave you," she said, gently taking me hand.

"Then why did you look down?" I asked. "Why did you not say anything? You are planning on leaving me!"

"Dax, no, I'm not," she said. "I love you, you know that. You are not only my boyfriend, but you are my best friend. You're the person that showed me what love was and what friendship was after what happened with my ex-friends. I will never leave you."

"Then why did you look down?" I repeated.

Isadora sighed and looked at me. "Dax, we're doing this because we love you, all of us."

"Doing what?" I asked. "Isa....You're planning against me. They're trying to make you turn against me! Why can't you see that?!"

"Dax, I didn't even tell you what we're doing," Isadora said. "But....it's for you're own good."

"Oh my....You're going to kill me?!"

"No," Isadora said quickly. "Would you just listen to me? Dax, we're going to take you to the psychiatric hospital. Today."

"What?" I asked. "No. No! I'm not going to go there! I'm completely fine!"

"Dax, you are not fine," Isadora said. "Your schizophrenia has gotten worse and you're not showing any sign of getting better. Everyone thinks it's what's best for you. Your doctor. Seb. Me."

I couldn't go to the hospital. I didn't have to go there. Nothing was wrong with me. Everyone was the one changing and acting different.
