Chapter 18
Seb
I didn't know how long Artie was going to stay mad at me. I didn't care if she said she wasn't mad at me, I knew she was. It was more than just being upset.
I wanted her to get over it so bad. I didn't know how many times I had to apologize.
Her not being over it was the reason I couldn't get over it. I tried, but it was hard when I saw how upset and mad she was. She was the reason I was still holding on to it.
And Dax almost lost his dog because of it.
I mean, I wasn't blaming Artie because Isadora and I were the ones who caused all of this, but still. All she had to do was forget about it, especially after how many times I apologized to her.
We hadn't done anything affectionate since I told her that I kissed Isadora. We hadn't hugged, kissed, held hands. We even slept on opposite sides of the bed instead of curled up together.
I hated it so much.
Right now, I was home alone with only Evelyn. Everyone else was at school, and Artemis should be home soon. Only to ignore me probably.
At least I was entertained right now, making Evelyn laugh like crazy. Evelyn was laying on the couch, and I held her teddy bear in my hand, making it attack her. She would laugh like crazy, so I would get her teddy bear to attack her again once her laughter died down.
I was getting a bit bored from doing that, no matter how cute my daughter's laugh was.
However, as soon as I stopped, she starting crying, so I had to get her teddy bear to attack her again.
Artie suddenly sat down on the other side of me. "I didn't hear you come in," I said.
"Because you were too busy making her laugh," Artie said. "It was a really cute thing to walk in on, seeing my husband making our daughter laugh."
I placed the teddy bear down and picked up Evelyn. She laughed again and placed her hand on my face. "Da!" she said happily and laughed again.
I smiled at her and kissed her cheek before sitting her down on my lap.
"You know," Artie said. "I'm really glad that I married you."
"You haven't acted that way recently," I said honestly.
Artie sighed. "I know. And I'm sorry. It's just....it's my second time being cheated on, even though this one shouldn't be that big of a deal."
"I've been cheated on twice, too," I reminded her. "So why is it different?"
"I don't know," Artie said.
The door suddenly opened and Dax and Isadora walked in, with Dax pulling her along and he had a smile on his face. "If you need any of us, you'll have to wait," he said. "We'll be in the shower. Together."
"TMI, Dax," I said with a disgusted look on my face. He needed to chill with that.
"You're welcome," Dax said before he and Isadora disappeared to their bedroom, which lead to their washroom.
At least the two of them were falling back into their step.
"Artie?" I said.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going to go take a nap," I said.
"Oh. Okay," Artie said. "I'll take Evelyn then."
I handed our daughter over to Artie before getting up from the couch and heading to our bedroom. I laid down on the couch, not even feeling tired. I just wanted to be alone for a bit.
Well, apparently I was a bit tired because I ended up falling asleep for a bit. When I woke up, it was a bit after four, so I just sighed and laid on my back, staring up at the ceiling.
The door creaked open and Artie walked in, gently placing a sleeping Evelyn into her crib before she climbed onto the bed, sitting down beside me. "Hey," she said.
"Hey."
"How was your nap?" she asked.
"Okay. Not that special. It was just a nap."
Artie was silent for a bit before doing something not expected. She laid down beside me, curling into my side as she rested her head on my chest. "I love you, Seb," she said.
"I love you too, Artie," I said. "And I am really sorry for what I did. I never, ever wanted to cheat on you, on anyone."
"It's okay, Seb," Artie said. "It was a short kiss and you were just upset. I mean, I'm not happy about it, but I think I'm mostly over it."
"Just yesterday you weren't," I said.
"That was yesterday," she said. "But then, today, I walked home and saw you making our daughter laugh so much with a smile on your face. I'm not going to let that, let what we have, go because of one small mistake. I married you for a reason, Seb. Because you're my best friend and I love you so much."
I smiled faintly. "I love you too. Can I kiss you now? I haven't kissed you in so long and I missed it."
Artie lifted her head off of my chest and looked at me with a smile. She then leaned down and pressed her lips on mine. When she pulled away, she smiled even wider. "I missed that too," she said.
"Thank you for not hating me over what happened," I said.
"I could never hate you," she said, giving me another kiss before laying back down. "We have to make it up to Dax, though. He was the one that was the most affected over it. His first time being cheated on, then we wouldn't get over it and his dog almost died."
"Yeah," I said. "I felt guilty about that. If I didn't put garlic in the pasta...."
"It wasn't just your fault, though," she said. "I was overreacting which made you upset and you couldn't think straight. So, what should we do about it?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. We'll think of something soon."
______________
Here is a short Sebemis chapter. cx Everything is almost back to normal, and Dax is already getting back into the shower fun times. cx
I got to be honest, there's one class in university that I just want to get over with. We have to be a bit too open and put ourselves out there, and I'm not that kind of person. For those who read Accidental Fame, I'm like Zander in a way. I don't have his fear, but I get really bad anxiety even when two people are sitting too close to me on either side.
Anyway, here's a quick random question. How do you pronounce pasta? Do you say Pah-sta or Paw-sta? I say Paw-sta, like my brother only in my family, and basically everyone I know and they say we're wrong. Um, no. There's no exact pronunciation. (Paw-sta sounds cooler....)
