Demi
We finally got back to my place and had unpacked Mac's stuff into one of my spare rooms, which I guess was hers now? I know her living here is more serious than just visiting but she's 16 so I think she can legally decide where she wants to live? I'm not sure but once she is 18 she can, so only 2 years and maybe her parents won't even notice. I hope they do notice and I hope they don't. I wish they would notice because she is their daughter, who has just packed all her shit and left, but I also hope they don't because then maybe these next two years could go by okay and she could get healthy. I think I might need to call her parents for custody, otherwise how am I going to enroll her in a new school...
I'm in the kitchen right now, just trying to prep something I can maybe get Mac to eat. Though I really should have done a grocery shop.Currently I have carrots and lettuce and bread...which does not make much, oh I have ham! I'm sure she can handle a ham sandwich, I'll only give her one. Wait...where is Mac "Baby girl...where are you?"I yell from the kitchen, when I don't get a response I move from the kitchen and head up the stairs to her room still calling her name.
Mac
I could hear Demi calling my name, which probably meant lunch soon, but I was hoping she wouldn't come up here looking for me. I had my blades everywhere, about 20 of them, trying to figure out where to hide them all. I had stuffed one under my bed, tapped to the underneath of my bed base. I was about to tape another to the desk Demi had bought for me, on the underneath of the top draw so I could get to it through the second draw but it wasn't too obvious.
The 18 other blades where still on my floor and desk and bed, trying to be sorted around the room, and that's when I heard Demi say my name outside my bedroom door. I did not have enough time to even grab all of these so she wouldn't see them. I knew she was going to talk tome about rules and honesty but I had hoped I could have all my blades hidden by the time she got around to talking to me. I heard her turn the door handle and softly open the door "Baby girl, you in here?" in that moment I froze, I wanted to rush along the bed and desk to at least hide those.
I swiped my hand over the desk, swiping the blades from my desk into the top draw- which if Demi decided to go looking, would be easily found- slammed the draw shut and jumped for my bed swiping the blades off the back, so they were between the top of the mattress and my backboard. "Yeah Dem, what's up..." I knew she would spot the 3 blades still lying on the floor, and that this would probably kick off the talk I was trying to avoid, but I had to look like I wasn't aware of them. They were right next to my suitcase, which I had opened specifically for the blades, so it could look like they accidently fell out.
"Hey baby girl, just wanted to tell you – umm Mac, what have you been doing?" she raised a single eyebrow at me and crossed her arms, I slowly put down the book I just realized I was 'reading' upside down, and made eye contact "I-I nothing, doing nothing, not doing a thing" I hated how badly I managed to form that sentence but that couldn't be helped now. "Baby girl, there are blades on your floor and one on your desk, do I need to search the room?" I started to panic, I had assumed if I had some lying around she would think I had been lazy, my fatal mistake, because apparently she knew I had been hiding them. "No, no Demi you don't need to search I swear!" I was praying she would believe me and just talk to me about how she had to take them. "baby girl...how do I know these are all you have..." I sighed and headed to the desk where I had taped my second blade to the underneath of a draw, and opened it pulling the blade out from where it was taped.
"I only managed to hide one before I heard you, I assumed you would think I had just started and wouldn't look anywhere else. Since you clearly aren't that stupid I'd rather give it to you than have you rip my room apart" I couldn't stop the anger and venom that dripped with each word and knew I was being a brat for no reason. I had known there would be rules and I knew she would eventually take my blades, but I hated that she had come in here and spotted me while I was trying to hide them. It wasn't fair. She uncrossed her arms and dropped the eyebrow "baby girl, I just care about you, I just want you to be healthy. You can come to me whenever you need, I'm here for you..." her sentence dropped off and she looked out the window for a second before turning back to me "I just wanted to tell you I made ham sandwiches for lunch, we will need to go grocery shopping after so I want to make a list with you"
