Camila's POV
"Come on Mila, just do it"
I saw her walking down the hallway carrying her books. She was one of the smartest girl in school...
Before I could argue with my friends they pushed me towards her and all her books fell.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it. My friends pushed me towards you." I apologized
"It's totally fine, I understand" she said smiling
Before I could speak, she ran away
"Bye I gotta go" she said while running
Dinah, one of my friends, went up to me and asked if I got the information we needed. I shook my head while frowning.
"She's too mysterious. Why did I even agreed to your plan, I'm seriously regretting it." I said to her
"Oh shut up, asking for Normani's number was easy" she said while laughing obnoxiously
"I gotta go, see you soon" I said to her
It was the weekend and I am so bored. I watched almost everything at Netflix. Someone suddenly opened the door.
"Mom! Don't you know how to knock?" I said while laughing
"Sorry Mija, our new neighbors are downstairs. Please entertain them while I cook dinner"
"Yeah, sure mom"
I got up from the bed and went down stairs. You got to be kidding me. Shes's the daughter of the Jauregui's?
"Lauren meet Karla" my mom introduced me.
"Actually, I already met her earlier" she said
"Well, that's nice. I need to cook dinner. I'll leave you two girls alone" my mom said while walking away
We didn't talk though, she just played with her fingers nervously. It was VERY awkward.
"So Lauren, you want to sleepover?" I asked her. I still need Normani's number for Dinah's plan
"Sure" she said while standing up
"Wait, Where are you going?" I asked her
"I'm going to get my things" she said while smiling
Ten minutes later she returned with some of her things.
"Let's go up" I said to her
She sat down my bed and we talked for 30 minutes.
I learned a lot about Lauren. Her family moved here so that Lauren can go to my school. Apparently, my school offered her a full scholarship. By the way she talks, I bet she's smart. The only problem is that after three days, her parents needs to leave for work. In short, she'll be home alone.
"You can stay here if you want" I said to her
"Thanks but no thanks" she said while smiling apologetically
"That's cool"
"Girls, come down dinner's ready" mom shouted from the kitchen
We all ate dinner and had a good time. Surprisingly, Lauren talked about herself voluntarily.
After dinner, Lauren and I talked a little bit more about ourselves. We got to know each other more. Suddenly her phone rang
"Hello?" she answered
I watched her facial features. She is really beautiful. I just don't get it why she hates her.
She suddenly let go of the phone and it fell to the ground.
"Lauren... What happened?" I asked her
"My... My parents"

We rushed to the hospital and immediately went to the ER. Lauren paced back and forth waiting for the doctor.
After a while, We saw the doctor coming near us.
"I'm so sorry, Mr. And Mrs. Jauregui didn't make it. Time of death 11:42 p.m." the doctor said to Lauren
I saw Lauren. She was devastated. I didn't know what to do, should I comfort her or should I give her some alone time.
I caressed Lauren's back.
"This wasn't suppose to be happening. I... I need them Camila. I don't know what to do... they promised to be there on my graduation." She said while crying
It broke my heart to see Lauren like this. She's a strong independent woman. I'm sure she can go through this. I feel guilty for wanting to use her. I stayed with Lauren but she insisted that I should go home.
Monday came and I was walking in the hallway. The air was thick and dense. The hall was so quite I can even hear my own heartbeat. I saw Dinah coming over.
"You got it?" She asked
"Yeah" last night before the incident, Lauren left to get some things and she left her phone. I feel so bad for doing that.
"Great see you later Chancho."
"Bye" I said quietly
The bell rang and I got inside the classroom. I was in pure shock that despite what happened the other night Lauren still came to school.
"You're here" I said to her
"I lost way too much,I can't also lose my scholarship"she said nonchalantly
If last night she was full of emotions, today she was like a robot. I would ask her something and she would answer with a word or two. I hate how she's treating me right now but honestly I don't think I have the right to ask her to treat me nicely.
When I got home, I saw a bunch of trucks outside of the Jauregui's house. They look like one of those house that move furniture and stuff. I saw Lauren outside talking to the drivers. I went near her and started talking.
"Hey Lauren, you know these guys?" I asked her
"Camila..." she said obviously annoyed that I'm here
"Yes?" I said looking at her
"I'm leaving" she said looking down
"WHAT?!" No no no way
"I mean there's really nothing in this place to make me stay. It's my parents who wanted me to stay here so..." she said explaining why she's leaving
" How bout your friends? How bout me Lauren??" I asked her
"Camila we're kinda not really uhmm..." there was a moment of hesitation
"We're not friends" she said looking away
Those three words. They hurted me so much in ways I didn't knew existed. I was speechless. Yes, I wanted to use Lauren for a girl's number but I really considered her one of my best friends. It hurted more than any word in the dictionary could describe. It even hurts more than a heartbreak. I started to walk away and left Lauren with all the memories we had together.
