The Midnight's Gambit

Logan said goodbye to John and left the gym. As soon as he got out, someone tapped his shoulder. Logan turned around to see Yang. She said, "I wanted to say thanks for saving my sister Ruby from the White Fang." Logan nodded as she suddenly softly kissed him on the lips. Logan got bewildered by this as Yang asked, "So, where are you headed?" Logan answered, "The High Stakes Casino where I can a guy named Remy LeBeau." Yang hugged him as she let go and said, "Good luck with finding what you're looking for." Logan nodded as he got on his motorcycle and drove off.

Logan got inside of the High Stakes Casino and looked around. The place was covered with people on casino games, in the bar, and in poker tables. Logan mumbled, "Great. Gambit could be anywhere in this place." "You looking for Remy LeBeau?" asked a girl in brown clothing and dark sunglasses. Logan nodded as the girl said confidently, "C'mon. I know where he hangs out. I'm Coco Adel by the way." He followed her as he replied, "Logan." Coco led him to a young man flipping cards over his head. Logan and Coco looked in awe as she said, "Okay, that is cool." Logan came over to see the young man. He was wearing a purple button up collar shirt, a dark purple vest over the shirt, a tan trench coat, dark purple pants, white boots, and a dark purple bandanna barely over his brown hair. Logan asked, "Are you Remy LeBeau?" The young man asked, "Do I owe you money?" Logan shook his head and said flatly, "No." The young man smiled as he lifted his head up to see Logan and said, "Then Remy LeBeau I am." Coco butted in, "You may not owe him money, but you owe Goodwitch money." Remy chuckled as he handed Coco money and she left. Remy turned to see Logan and said, "Blind is 100 and the small blind's 50." Logan sat down on the table as Remy asked, "May I deal you in, sir?" Logan replied, "Yeah, uh, what can I get for 17 lien?" Remy stopped shuffling cards as he laughed, "17 lien, mon ami? Maybe for a taxi ride home?" Logan slightly flustered as Remy passed cards around the table. Then Remy looked at his cards as he asked, "So, what brings you here, mon ami?" Logan answered, "Victor Creed." Remy lowered his cards slightly as he asked, "And who's that?" Logan flatly stated, "The guy I'm going to kill." Remy lifted his eyebrows as he said, "Shame about Mr. Creed, huh?" Logan continued, "He works for a man named Stryker on a island. I just need to know where it is." Remy looked at Logan and asked, "Why would you think I know that?" Logan replied, "Well, 'cause I know who you are Gambit. You're the guy who escaped and you're the guy who's gonna take me back there." Remy paused when he heard Gambit. He narrowed his eyes to Logan's chest and saw dog tags. "Those are mighty nice tags you have on there, sir," said Remy. "The people who took me in had tags just like 'em." Then Remy's eyes turned red as he threw a card at Logan and exploded on impact. Logan flew off and landed on a casino machine. The people ran out and panicked as Remy stood up as he shuffled the cards in the air and they shot out from the top of his arm like bullets. Logan somersaulted away from the cards as they exploded like grenades. Remy grabbed his staff and jumped on the chandelier and yelled, "I spent two whole years rotting in that hellhole! I'm never going back!" Then Remy jumped off from the chandelier while spinning his staff over his head and landed near Logan as he pressed one of the staff's ends on the floor which made everything explode around him. That sent Logan flying onto the floor. The explosion also caused the floor to get covered in lien, poker chips, and playing cards. Logan got back up as Remy came over to him as he swung his staff around and hit Logan. Logan popped out his claws as he smirked, "That's one nice stick." Then Logan retracted the first and third claws and gave Remy the middle claw. Remy smirked as twirled his staff but Logan sliced it in half and kicked him. Remy quickly glanced at his broken staff but twirled the two halves as Logan and exchanged a few blows. Remy spun his body around as he ran toward a ladder leading to the top of the High Stakes Casino. Remy began climbing up but Logan leaped at the middle of the ladder and kicked Remy off. Remy fell onto a trash can and got stuck as Logan landed in front of him. Logan grabbed Remy's shirt collar and pinned him to a wall. "Here's the deal: You're gonna take me to this Island so I can kill Stryker, Creed, and pretty much everyone you hate in this world," growled Logan. "You understand?" Remy looked at him and said, "You really are going to kill 'em." Logan let go as Remy said, "A lot of men tried and a lot of men died. What makes you think you can do it?" Logan answered, "Well, I got an edge." Remy agreed, "That you do, mon ami. The White Fang must've messed you up pretty bad." Logan nodded, "It's a long story." Remy nodded, "Good. 'Cause it's a long way to the Island. You can tell me on the way." Then the both of them walked out of the High Stakes Casino.

An hour later, Glynda Goodwitch and Coco Adel came inside and saw the mess. "That's quite a mess," whistled Coco. Glynda grumbled as she grabbed her riding crop and began cleaning up.
