Can you feel it? Can you? Can you? CAN YOU?

NO?

Well, sorry to break your bubble, but the story is coming to an END. Only one more chapter to go (till 30).

Be sure to read the footnote though. 😉

"This year's Head Boy is," the Principal paused for the dramatic effect during the Investiture ceremony. "Harsh Agarwal!"

The guy from Humanities stream skipped across the hall quite eagerly with a smile threatening to spill over his lips.

"Now, for the Head Girl we have," my sister. Everyone knew that by now. "Tuhina Mallick!"

A round of applause echoed inside the auditorium as Tuhina went up on the stage to accept her badge. Wouldn't Afzal be a badge-holder too? It's almost comical how they do everything together at school, as if they were the twins, not me and Tuhina.

A girl and a boy each from Commerce became the Presidents of the Quiz and Nature Club of the school.

"The new President of the Interact Club this year is," the Principal paused again. Sometimes, I swear, he was more dramatic than the school's Drama Club. "Afzal Akbar."

There, there. That boy isn't letting go off my sister so easily.

He gave me a goofy smile as I cheered him on, and joined the herd of students up on the stage with his new, shiny badge pinned onto his shirt.

"The next one is an easy one - the President of Drama Club,"

Of course, too easy.

I grinned at Ishan sitting beside me who was mumbling something under his breathe.

"Ishan Sen."

"Couldn't it be a Culinary Club or something?" Ishan grumbled while getting up from his seat. Evidently, he was pissed off, but that didn't stop us from cheering him on. He glared at me for the last time and made way for the stage.

Needless to say, he was boring holes in the Principal's skull while the latter was busy pinning the badge on his shirt. His mouth gradually morphed into a pout as he looked begrudgingly over at me.

The Principal ushered him towards the back to join the other badge-holders and took over the microphone again.

"This year we have three Sports Captain instead of two," the Principal paused again.

Most of my friends had got a badge. I wouldn't be too disappointed since I couldn't care less about being the Sports Captain. I was already the Captain of Tigers since Rakesh, Krrish and their batch was the outgoing one. Sports Captain would just be an added responsibility I wouldn't want. But a shiny badge would look nice on the dull uniform -

"Ayan Bhattacharyya, Divya Shome, Tuhin Mallick!"

I stared at the Principal, unable to believe my ears. Not because he called my name - it was because he called Divya's name. I highly doubted if my bitch had ever set a foot on the field, let alone play sports! How could she be a Sports Captain?

As the Principal pinned the badge to my shirt, I joined the group of badge-holders at the back, squeezing myself inside to get to Divya.

"What did you do to get that?" I pointed at the badge on her chest while she gave me a guilty smile.

"Punched the Secretary's nose when she said that my name was not on the list and threatened to make her affair with the Principal public," she whispered.

"Seriously?" Divya might be a lot of things but not a cheat.

"Arey bhai, no. Nobody was willing to be the March Past Co-ordinator, because of course, students hate march past. So when Tuhina was lamenting about it, I might have shown a little interest."
