Chapter 23- Would you like to go out to dinner tonight?

~11:30am~

Talia walks over to me and tells me that she can go home now and that she's done working today. I tell her to grab her stuff and then we can leave.
After she gets all her stuff, she walks back over to me. I wrap my arm around her waist and guide her outside and to my car. I open the car door for her and she smiles at me then thanks me. I smile and say 'Your welcome'.
I get in the car and start up the car. I turn on the radio and blast it really loud, while we are driving done the street. I look over at Talia and she is quietly singing along to the songs. I have to get her to sing for me sometime, I think.
One of my favorite songs come on, and I start singing along to it. I see Talia looking at me. I look over at her and she is laughing & smiling. I sing the whole song until its over and then I turn down the radio. Talia has her hands in her lap and she is just staring down at them. She looks sad for some reason. How could she go from laughing and smiling to being sad so fast?
I reach over with one hand and I grab Talia's hand with my own.

'What's wrong?' I asked, as I stroked my thumb over her hand.
'Nothing. It's fine.' She said, then she sighed.
I could tell something was wrong but I didn't want to keep asking her about it right now. I figured that I could ask her about it later and maybe she would tell me, or at least I hope she would.

We pulled up to her house and I turned off the car, then went around the car and opened the door for her. She said thanks then half-smiled at me. I wrapped my arm around her waist and we walked up to her front door together. When we got up to her door she turned and looked up at me. I smile down at her and look into her eyes.
'Hey would you want to come out to dinner with me and my mom tonight? She really wants to meet you.' I say then smile.
'Okay!' She smiles.
'Great! Pick you up at 7?' I ask.
'Sure!' She says.
'Okay. See you tonight! Bye babe.' I say then lean down to kiss her.
I kiss her then say bye.

I start walking to my car and when I look back at her, she waves. I wave back and then I get in my car.
I drive home and when I get there I go inside. Its almost 2 and my mom's home from her flight.

'Hey Mom' I say.
'Hey Austin!'
'How was your flight?' I ask.
'It was good. So did you ask Talia out to dinner tonight?' She asks.
'Yeah. She said yes. I told her I would pick her up at 7, so I figured we could make reservations for 7:30.' I say.
'Okay! Great! I can't wait to meet her!'
'Okay cool' I say.
'I will make reservations now.' She says.
I just say 'Okay' and then I go up to my room.
I sit on my bed and look at the clock, it's like 2:30 in the afternoon. I take out a notebook that I write down song ideas in and I try to write a song.
