'It's done. You're the last.'-Aiden Pearce, Watch_Dogs, 2014. May 27th, to give the precise release date. Created by Ubisoft. Characters: Jordi, Clara, Quinn, Iraq, T-Bone, Frewer, Defalt, Gardener, Brenks. Sequel date: November 15th, 2016. Anyway...

Pens down. Papers shut. Desks cleared. The gradual, almost painful waiting for the lucky students with surnames lower down the alphabet to leave. Then the words:
"And finally, these rows."
We were free.
The final exam was over. We could go. Finally leave the hellhole this school had become, draining us of mental capacity and hope over the past five weeks. We could simply walk out the door. As we exited through the narrow passage between the commandeered sports hall and the next room, the usual encounters and mutterings that technically shouldn't have been happening yet did began to take place- the comments on how fucked (or indeed not fucked) we were:
"Well, that was shit."
"Were we even taught that?"
"Did you get 17.5 for that calculation one?... No, the gravity one or whatever... Yeah, that one... Shit... Wait, no it wasn't!... Bullshit, that was 75!"
"I actually thought it was ok-"
"Fuck off, you did."
"Hell of a one to end it on, eh?"

That last one was me. Ok, maybe I thought it. But I definitely said it at some point. Maybe later that day. But now, the priority on everyone's minds: home and rest. Well, except for the ones who a) had more exams, and/or b) had an exam that afternoon. Health and Social Care students, suffer. Still, they were irrelevant- at least to the ones who could leave and never return. Well, had to return twice (once for a 'final assembly' and once for the actual results) but were basically free. As free as you can get within the education system (look, social commentary).

I walked home with a friend, me celebrating the brutal end to the conquest with Tic-Tacs that changed flavour as you ate them. Oh, life's simple pleasures. Eventually, I reached my home, navigating past the ecstatic Lakeland Terrier happy to see me back from school so early, and collapsing on my bed in both exhaustion and relief. The summer was mine, but what to do with it?
Socialising, I suppose, was an option. I already had plans for the next month for attending parties as well as other various meet ups that would likely appear as time went on. There were also talks of a midnight showing of the film Suicide Squad (if such an event would come into existence- which it did [luckily, otherwise my hopes would have been crushed in a minor fashion]). There was a family holiday in August that would unfortunately coincide with Results Day, because everyone needs that stress while trying to relax. But aside from that- no idea. I'd just have to see...
