You wake up in your sleeping bag to see Maya staring straight back at you.
"What's wrong?"
You ask.
"Can't sleep."
You place your hand on hers.
"Why?"
Maya sighs.
"I don't know, I'm just scared."
The blonde sits up, looking down at you.
She starts to look away.
"I-I just don't want to loose Eliza, but I also don't want to loose you.
And if I don't want to loose Eliza, I'd have to loose you.
Things are just so... Hard right now..."
Maya tells you, burrying her face into her hands.
You sit up, wrapping your arms around your best friend and resting your head on her shoulder.
"It's gonna be okay, Maya. I could, y'know, step back for awhile. It's fine."
You lie.
Maya glances at you.
"No way, Riles. I've been ditching you, and that's not okay. I'll just deal with things on my own."
You both sit there for a while, and you're trembling from the night breeze and she's trembling from crying,
and you just want to stay there.
Together.
