Thank you to everyone who sent in their poems! There wasn't a lot of entries this week, but I guess that's to be expected with my mess up. Also thank you to everyone who had ideas for future contest themes! I will definitely be using some of them in the future.

Now for the winners:

By deathbell-

you told me that i

had stars inside my eyes,

a galaxy in my mind;

it was a vast infinity of lies.

I was taking my time

falling through the sky.

a wish made just for you,

but I didn't think it through.

Short and sweet, this poem was well crafted and totally gave me chills!

Patience was there with you way before 1930

Lecturing you all about how the

Undiscovered would have

Their day, even if it took time,

One only had to wait. Your day came, but,

Pain was

Lingering in the background

Under the dark starless sky

Threatening to

Open up old wounds.

Planets

Laughed

Unapologetically when

They heard the

Overbearing scientists' news.

Pluto, don't you worry,

Love will still

Ultimately find you,

Tiny or not,

Obscure or not.

I love the format for this poem (The first letter of each stanza spells a word in case someone didn't notice) I haven't seen anyone do that yet. I've also been a long time Pluto fan so I kind of fell in love! Excellent job.

| Astronomy Boy |

By Complexity_

He floats around the sun

His heart filled with joy

He dances with the stars

He's my astronomy boy

I see him in the sky at night

His eyes are always sparkling

He twirls around and dances

His killer smile was something

He was always reading comics

While he sat on the moon

And while he read about superheroes

He hummed a lovely tune

He looked like a god

Only a lot more fun

And he always talked to me

When he danced around the sun

He seemed like an angel

He sounded like a saint

He really was beautiful

A beauty way to great

He always seemed to bring

All the live into our sky

He always had me thinking

I wish I could fly

And when he had to go

It just wasn't okay

Because when he left

Our whole universe turned grey

~Malaika Minyuku-Gutto

Some of the wording for this made me laugh "killer smile" "He looked like a god only a lot more fun" but the poem was fantastic. I love the idea of an astronomy boy. Great work!
