I didn't know anything about this until it was requested, but I found the story quite interesting, so I'm here to share it with y'all!
Okay, so the Roswell Incident refers to a strange paranormal event in 1947, in which the US Air Force surveillance balloon crashed at a ranch near Roswell, NM (New Mexico). Folks in the area claimed it to be an extraterrestrial spaceship crashed.
The military later insisted that it was just an average weather balloon, but was soon questioned by multiple theorists. The theorists came to a conclusion that it was an extraterrestrial crash, and the military recovered the aliens from the remains, and used the idea of a weather balloon as a coverup.
This lit the interest of many people and it got a little out of hand. I have no information of how it was settled, or the final conclusion.
