helllllllllloooo lovely readers!
I have exciting news. . .
I've decided to continue onto 100 chapters!!!!!
the only downside to this decision is that it means that it will take me a while, but I guess subsequently, that means that you'll get to enjoy the story longer!
this chapter will be more of a filler chapter just so I can get something out there for you guys that have been asking for updates. as you all know, I'm beyond busy currently, but I'm trying really hard to squeeze in writing in my free time between two jobs and going to college full time. phew.
alright, so here we go, 5 chapters away from 50!!!!!!!
photo: the beautiful Charley
I just realize that I actually kind of resemble Georgie Henley... weird... but not as pretty, obviously. she's gorgeous and I'm jealous. ugh.
I do not own any of the photos in this story.

Archie's cold, wet nose bumped my hand as I continued packing up all of my clothes.
"I know, buddy." I said, petting the top of my pup's head. "I'm gonna miss you so much, but Nick said we can't risk you getting eaten by crocodiles or kicked in the head by kangaroos." I chuckled, looking down at my unknowing dog who simply licked his paw in response.
I shook my head at his silly self. I was in the middle of packing my bras and panties right as there was a knock on my door.
"Come in," I responded, too focused on the packing to worry about who was there.
"Cal!" A voice shouted, and an excited Charley walked into the room. "What are you doing today!?"
I motioned toward the suitcase, "Packing, silly!"
She rolled her eyes and flopped onto my bed sitting crisscross legged. "Come hang out with me, Sierra, and the boys!"
"Which boys?" I asked, walking over to grab a t-shirt that I noticed was missing from the suitcase. "The cute, diaper-wearing boys that drool on everything... or the sticky, obnoxious, messy boys that do nothing all day long?"
"Honestly..." Charley trailed off. "I'm not sure which boys fit which description. But since Jason and Marc do NOT wear diapers, I'm gonna say they're the second option." To which, I nodded my head yes. "And the second option is who I meant. Sierra has David watching the boys so all of us can go out again before you and Nick leave!"
I smiled and threw my headphones next to my suitcase. "Is Nick coming?"
Charley shrugged, "I don't think so. He said he wanted to hang out with his parents and Carter for the night."
"Okay good," I breathed out in relief. Charley looked confused. "Oh, I still love him with all my heart, don't get me wrong! But we're about to spend lord knows how long together in Australia... I can take a break from him every now and then."
Charley laughed at this. "I take regular breaks from Max. Usually on Wednesdays."
"Why Wednesdays?" I asked, folding a pair of yoga pants and setting them in the case.
"Because it's the middle of the week... it just seems like a good time to take a break from seeing him. And it's usually the only day I'm free to watch Netflix." She shrugged. "Now let's go, we're all meeting at the restaurant in half an hour!"
Charley grabbed one of Archie's toys that he had dragged up to my room, and she threw it down the stairs as an attempt to play with him.
Archie launched himself down the stairs after his toy, and after he picked it up he immediately brought it back to Charley, set it down, and waited patiently with a wagging tail until she threw it for him again.
"Alright, children," I said, pretending to scold Charley and Archie. "Rumpus time is over."
Charley raised her eyebrows, "Did you just quote Step Brothers?"
I grabbed my keys off the hook and smirked, "You're damn right I did."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Dude... dude... but what if a giant octopus came in and took out the whole bar. Like, only using SIX tentacles instead of all EIGHT!"
Jason was drunk. . . as usual.
And he was underage drinking in public. . . as usual.
Marc slapped Jason's arm and replied, "You're so fucking hammered, dude."
"Dude," Jason said in a whisper. "You're right... what if the octopus DID have a hammer?! That'd be even worse!" He said, slapping his hand down on the table and chuckling to himself. "Silly Octopussy's."
"I believe it's Octopi," Marc tried correcting him.
Finally Charley piped up and stood up from her seat, "Hey Dumb," She said, looking toward Jason. She then turned her attention to Marc, "Dumber, this is Callie's last night home and we wont see her or Nick for a couple months, so stop being idiots and start enjoying our time together, damn it!" She spat before plopping back down on her seat.
Charley's youngest sister, Claire, passed away when Charley was about 10 years old. She still to this day blames herself for not spending enough quality time with Claire before Leukemia took her too soon at 6 years old. Ever since then, spending time with each other has always been big in Charley's mind and she always reminds us that we never truly know how much time we have left with our loved ones.
"Yes ma'am," Jason said, hiccuping partway through ma'am. "Won't happen again." He said while he took a swig of his Busch Light.
"Cal," Sierra spoke up. "Char and I took the liberty of buying you a little going-away present!"
I smiled, "Guys, you didn't have to do that!" I held my hand up to my chest in awe at how adorable my friends are.
"We know." Charley stated. "That's why you better appreciate it!" She teased, sticking her tongue out at me. "Open it up!" She said as she handed me the gift bag.
Inside was a small, plush Kangaroo and inside it's pouch was a gift card to Outback Steakhouse. Also inside the bag was a tiny container of Vegemite and the last gift was a small framed picture of everybody. Myself, Nick, Si, Char, Jason, Marc, David, Max, Zach, and Xavier. Our little/big family.
I let a tear slip.
"I love you guys," I choked out, trying to hold in a sob as they both hugged me. "I love you all so much!"
