"YOU'RE WHAT!?"

I clamped my hand over Sierra's mouth to shush her. Charley and Max were going to be on their way over any minute and I couldn't tell them the news. Not yet anyway.

I bit my bottom lip and pulled my hand away from Sierra's mouth.

"Charley can't find out," I whispered.

Sierra whipped her head back and forth looking from me to Nick and back to me.

"I just, I want to be happy but I'm still, you know, dealing with the whole..."

I nodded my head. I knew exactly what she meant. It didn't seem fair that Charley and Nick had already purchased a crib and blankets and baby formula and painted a nursery in their two-bedroom apartment whereas Nick and I are constantly on the run and haven't even thought of becoming parents.

David sat down next to Sierra and held up his glass filled with iced tea. "Well, congratulations are in order regardless,"

He smiled and I felt myself calm down a bit. I had been so stressed out worrying about Charley or Max finding out that I didn't even allow myself to be happy that I would be having my own child.

Nick, Sierra and I raised our glasses and sipped from our ice cold waters.

Our appetizers were now arriving and so did Max and Charley.

My stomach was immediately in knots again.

Charley seemed perfectly happy and was smiling, which relieved me a bit. She wore a beautiful bright yellow blouse with skinny jeans and black ballet flats.

"CALLIE! NICK!" She squealed as she ran up to our table to wrap us in bear hugs.

I stood up, my entire body stiff and my hands trembling as I gave her a hug and she quickly moved on to give Nick a hug. I felt myself forcing a smile.

Charley sat down across from us next to Sierra and David. Felicity and Marc would be joining mine and Nick's side of the table.

"So, how was the honeymoon!?" Charley beamed.

Max butted in, "And why would you come back from paradise so early?"

I looked at Nick and he gave me a meek smile.

"Well," I shrugged. "We were missing home and you guys a lot."

Max swatted away my comment. "We'll be okay don't worry about us,"

I couldn't help but look over at Charley, who was still maintaining a smile. All of a sudden, Marc and Felicity came through the door and I felt myself stand up, ready to accept more hugs.

Felicity ran up toward the girls and I and gave us each a hug. She ended at me and smiled, "Cal! How was the honeymoon!?"

"It was fantastic!" I exclaimed.

"Dudes!" We all turned our heads to the front of the restaurant. Jason was standing there, holding car keys in his hand and looking confused, in typical Jason fashion.

"Do I have to valet here?"

We laughed at his silliness before he walked up and joined all of us. Soon we all were laughing and catching up. David was in the middle of telling a story about high school.

"...and from then on my buddy, Grant always called me 'Dazed David' and I never lived it down!"

Everybody was chuckling now and Jason playfully slapped David on the arm.

"Bro, did you ever get high and play video games? That shit is the best!"

David shook his head. "No, but dude did you ever get high and listen to like the entire High School Musical soundtrack? That shit wasn't even a bop until I got high and listened and now it's my favorite album in the whole world!"

Felicity leaned over to me and whispered, "What is even happening?"

"I think this is what they call bonding for bros, or "bronding" if you will."

Sierra now piped up to tell her high school story. "Well, my pregnancy scare that turned out to be an actual pregnancy wasn't even my first pregnancy scare..."

David arched a brow and everybody was intently listening.

"...I was dating this guy for a couple months and we decided to have sex and I lost my virginity to him, but the condom broke halfway through so I was terrified for like, weeks that I was pregnant and the stress pushed back my period to an even later time so eventually I got my period like, two weeks late."

Felicity shook her head, "That is terrifying. My mom would've killed me!"

"I mean at least when I actually got pregnant I was an adult so my mom couldn't be upset! She was actually pretty happy when I told her!" Sierra smiled and turned to me and blurted out, "How did your mom react when she found out about you being pregnant, Cal?"

My eyes widened as the entire table fell completely silent. I felt a hand, presumably Nick's, grip my thigh.

Sierra also widened her eyes as the realization set in that she spilled my secret.

Charley sheepishly looked up at me and mumbled, "You're pregnant?"
