"oh wow," nate nods as he picks up his child off the floor. "what pleasure seeing you here."

"how've you been?" i ask, ignoring his rude remark.

"pleasant," he nods, "you?"

"we left off on a bad note," i scratch the back of my head, "i just want you to know, it wasn't you."

"yeah, okay."

"seriously."

"i'm serious too, yeah, okay."

"do you think i could get your number?" i ask, "i mean, it's okay if you don't want to-"

"yeah, i'll just write it down. let me just place matt down and such."

as he did that, i felt a flutter in my heart.

i still had feelings for him.

after that, nate then gives me his number on a piece of white paper, saying goodbye to me as i waved.

"i'll text you tonight," i nod. "i just want to catch up, yeah?"

"yeah. okay." nate then leaves.
