The love game (poem)

Love is a game,
In which I rolled the dice once or twice.
I should've just gave up the first time around,
But I picked up a card and continued to play on.
Even when you won,
I asked for a rematch for I still wanted my heart in your hands,
Not pond for a couple of bucks.
Love is not a game I can win,
And yet I keep trying to draw all my cards at once.
I guess I'm just like a deck of cards in which you only need so much from me,
Till there's none left, you put down your cards and collect my heart.
Even when it's shattered,
I can't get to yours but one day I'll win it all and find out what my love game has cost us from the truth of this deck of nothing.
