Pain, pain, pain.

Pain was its world now.

Red ran over its black scales and white claws to travel through the morning sky only to splat on the dirt. The red did not belong to its victims and meals, but the dragon itself. The red was only there because of the stick and that girl.

The dragon snarled.

The girl was why there was red to lose, why the dragon was tired. The girl was why those men with shiny, metal swords thought that because of the red, the dragon would be easier to capture.

But the dragon wasn't easier to capture.

The dragon blew fire down upon the men and screams of pain floated up to the dragon's ears as the dragon flew further away.

Served them right.

The dragon would not live a life in a cage.
