She woke up, feeling drained as usual, thinking going to bed early might give her some extra energy to get through the day. As expected, it failed.

Maybe that was a sign. She wanted to give up. She was sick of all of this, and wanted it to end.

She sighed, staring at her feet dangling off the edge of the bed. Everything to her seemed lonely. Her apartment, her weekends, her bed...

She had been struggling with depression for the past few years, afraid to tell anyone in fear of losing the ones closest to her.

She pulled on a band shirt and a pair of shorts, walking out to the living room.

She were greeted by no other than her best friend, Zack. He was perched on the couch, eating a bowl of cereal while he watched television.

He's such a child, she thought, laughing to herself.

Ever since they met, they basically lived at each other's house.

"Oh hey, sorry. I kind of crashed here last night, and I didn't want to wake you up." He smiled, sitting the bowl down.

"Don't be, it's not the first time." She snickered, feeling slightly better than she was just a few minutes ago.

Then she began to panic, did he hear? Did he see me last night?

"Hey, I planned out our whole night together, so you're not doing anything else tonight, okay?"

She put her hands up in defeat, knowing that she really didn't have anything going on, and that if she tired to argue, she wouldn't win, "Alright."

She sat down next to Zack as he looked through the channels.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Watching you eat a bowl of cereal, what about you?"

"Not that smart ass, I mean, are you alright? You haven't seemed as spunky as usual." He spoke.

"Since when did 'spunky' enter your vocabulary."

"Y/n, please. What's wrong ba- wrong. What's wrong?" Zacky corrected himself.

She sighed, giving into his green eyed gaze, "I just, I don't know."

"Y/n, come on. You do know."

"I just feel, I don't know... Alone, like, I have you, and the guys, but that's different... Nobody seems to care..."

Zack was taken aback by her words, looking at her with wide eyes.

"How could you think that?"

This is exactly what she didn't want, to have him freak out on her.

"Do you not think we care about you?" He paused, his eyes had a look of hurt hinted in them by his last sentence, "Do not think I care about you?"

She felt tears welling up in her eyes, "No, no no no... I shouldn't have said anything-"

"(Nickname), please."

This was the first in a long time that Zack had used her nickname, signaling that things were about to get serious.

"You're my best friend, do you really think I don't care about you?"

"Well, I mean... With your band getting bigger by each passing month, I feel like I'm getting smaller..." She whispered.

Zack pulled her into his arms as she cried onto his shoulder, he felt his heartbreak as he recalled the events from last night. He should've went into her room to calm her down, but instead he pretended not to hear the muffled sobs and hiccups coming from her room. He felt like a complete asshole.
Scratch that, he was a complete asshole.

He continued to hold the frail girl close to him as she cried, he rubbed her back, whispering small nothings into her ear to calm her down, which eventually did.

She pulled away, putting her hands against her face to wipe away her tears.

I've cried enough this past week, she thought to herself.

Zack pulled her back against him, "I didn't say I was done yet."

This caused both of them to laugh lightly. Then an idea popped into Zack's head. He smirked.

She scrunched her eyebrows together, wondering what was going through Zack's mind, "What-"

Zack flipped her onto her back, tickling her, causing her to thrash around and giggle.

"Ah, there's the Y/n I know and love." And it was true, he did love her.

"Zack! Fucking stop it!" She cried out laughing.

"Make me." He replied, mocking the voice of a little kid.

"Come here," Zack pulled her up onto his lap, "I have a secret to tell you."

His heartbeat began to quicken as she got closer.

Ah, fuck it. He thought to himself.

"What's that?" She asked.

And without a second thought, he kissed her cheek.

She looked stunned as a blush spread across her face, and he knew that he had fucked up. He shouldn't have done that.

"God, I'm so sorry..." He spoke sheepishly.

"Zee," She placed both of her hands on his face, making direct eye contact with him, "Does this answer your question."

She pressed her lips against his, savoring every second of it, from the sweetness of the kiss, to the cool metallic feeling of his snakebitten lips against hers.

"So what are your plans for tonight?" He asked, pulling away from the kiss for a brief second.

"Nothing." She laughed.

He returned his lips to hers once more, only more passionate than last time, which led to more.

"A-Are you sure, you want to-to take this further?" He panted, running his hands across her body.

"Y-yes." She replied.

Zack picked the small female up, her legs wrapped around his waist, not breaking their kiss. Her hand had tangled themselves into his purple hair. He had somehow managed to carry her to her bedroom, almost falling twice, but it was worth it.

Soon, one thing lead to another, then to another. It was silent, only moans, pants, and gasps could be heard from outside the door to her room.

"I fucking love you." Zack whispered huskily, as his emerald gaze met her warm chocolate eyes.

Those four words were enough to make y/n's heart swell as she repeated them back.

"And I love you too, Zachary."
