When you can't have the one you love,
It breaks your heart.
Everyday the fractures increase,
One then two then three.
Multiplying until,
One day,
It shatters,
Your heart just shatters.
And you just sit there,
Wondering what's going to happen,
How you'll survive this,
If you'll survive this.
When the one you love can't love you back,
It breaks your head,
You can't think,
You can't process,
You can't cope.
Everyday tasks become as hard as climbing a mountain.
You lose all sense of worth,
All sense of meaning.
All your energy goes into not breaking down,
You have no energy for anything else.
But still,
When the one you love is nearby,
Your mood soars,
When the one who can't love you back talks to you,
You feel like you can do anything.
So fall in love,
Go ahead,
Just beware the ones who can't love you back.
