Butterflies

When we met

They started in my stomach

Just fluttering away

Happy and carefree

But when we parted ways

They had long migrated

To my arms

To my thighs

To my shoulders

Why did you do this to me

You promised to always pick me up when I stumble

Now I have fallen

Beyond the point of saving

Yet you're no where to be seen

You broke me

Left me a shadow of who I once was

You gave me the most deadly disease of all

The one that causes the butterflies to move

Take them away

I don't want them

I'll just hurt the butterflies as well as myself
