The beautiful twilight with twinkling stars in the blue skies peered from above. The loud knock stopped my thundering heart, battling my nerves in a calm I didn't feel. I walked with feet made of lead & with a deep sigh, I opened the door expecting Aarej instead to find Tahir Bhai dressed in a three-piece suit. Releasing a battered breath I downcast my eyes, my heart suddenly filled with disappointment, and an unhappy feeling flooded me. Tahir bhai exclaimed cheekily

Madame, Your chariot awaits...
Let's go, your king is waiting!

I gave him a forced smile, my heart heavy I don't know why I was feeling so disheartened at not seeing Aarej. I never felt like this, I walked with him trying hard to pay attention to the amusing tales he was narrating but helplessly found my mind wandering towards Aarej...where is he...Ya Allah!
I didn't notice but we have reached. Tahir bhai stopped at the two wooden doors & looked at me expectantly. Suddenly, I was extremely nervous, I didn't know what to expect. I tried to swallow the babbling panic, Tahir bhai noticed my pale face & in a most serious tone he whispered conspicuously

Babhi, You know you should go with a warning, poor bhai will have a heart attack when he sees you!

I glared at him but failed miserably, grinning sheepishly my nerves settled. I felt all the earlier excitement, my anticipation maddening, I gave him a nervous smile. He smiled back & teased

So...Are you ready to meet your king!

I laughed at his childishness, noticing the weird stranger from that day watching me. I think his name was Antonio, with a brief nod I moved forward. Tahir bhai opened the doors & escorted me inside. Inside was an unforgettable sight, all the glitter blinded me. Large glimmering chandeliers hung bestowing the mighty Elite in their dressy & pristine attire. The luxurious couches & ottomans graced the shining marble floors, with a sitting area on the corner. The dance floor was entirely another matter, it was a mix of country & rock, the disco lights accentuating the place. I was awed by the lively vibe but unfortunately, I made a grand entrance as I was fashionably late not willingly though...Couldn't Aarej call me before... least then I would not have to be the Center of Attention...stupid Aarej!...Taking a deep breath I pranced forward but my entry had gained the attention of more than a few people.

All heads turned & I was thrown to the wolves. I was surveyed from head to toe but I was least bothered because of what captured my attention or rather who was an enigmatic dilemma.Aarej stood in the middle of the group of men, his six-foot-plus height towering over several of them. He was a captivating sight, even amongst such powerful handsome men, he was an elusive dominating figure. His charcoal black tuxedo graced his god-like figure, adding to the intimidating aura surrounding him. He looked like the Devil himself, his devastatingly handsome beauty in contrast with his dark attire. He was a force in himself. He looked relaxed conversing with other men, he didn't look like the beast for whom he was named but the powerful man albeit a dangerously handsome one.
